On March 9, 2023, BBB requested Nature's Select to modify, substantiate, or discontinue claims on their website (www.naturesselectpetfood.com/) that read:

“Nature’s Select Premium Pet Products uses only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients and is made right here in the USA!”

“...award-winning Nature’s Select Pet Food products below.”

“Proudly Made in the USA”

“The Dog Food Advisor's highest five-star rating for many years”

“Henry hasn’t had a single ear infection and his skin issues have cleared up completely.”

Endorsements from “Patriotic Service Dog Foundation, OC Animal Care, Guide Dog Foundation, America’s VetDogs, Orange County Canine Association”

Advertisers must be prepared to substantiate such claims per BBB's Code of Advertising.

BBB’s Code of advertising 1. Basic Principles of the Code Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.  All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided. 37. “Made in USA” Claims "Made in USA," and similar terms used to describe the origin of a product must be truthful and substantiated. In general, all or virtually all of the product must be made in the USA. Qualified “Made in USA” claims can made be under certain circumstances and with appropriate disclosures. 34. Claimed Results Claims relating to performance and results should be backed up by reliable evidence.
