    On Friday, the 26th of august, I noticed my oil pan had a crack in it and was spilling oil. I called my AAA to get a tow to my nearest car shop. When arriving at Villa automotive, I told an employee about what had happened. In addition to that, I mentioned and was specific to write the following information down “the hood latch does not lock but it does latch” I say this to ensure that they properly secure my hood. Wednesday the 31st, I paid for the service and picked up my car. On Friday the 2nd, the hood swung open and hit my windshield causing it to crack. In addition, my sunroof shattered, the body panel for the windshield bend from the impact, and my hood bent back. I noticed that the hood’s latch was bent out of place, and I know from experience that this only happens if someone tries to slam the hood closed with the latch not propped open. The people who worked on my car knew they can latch my car and the car had the latch on when I drove it in, decided to not latch my car and just tie the string I left on there. I secured my hood by latching my hood back. I called the shop a few minutes later when I could safely call them and told them the issue. The person informed me that the manager would not be there until Tuesday and to send him an email about the incident and to meet with him. I went to the shop at opening time and met with the manager. I proceeded to tell him about the incident and he immediately told me that is not his fault because the hood latch mechanism was not working properly. A few minutes later, the Bodyshop manager told me that the car was in a previous accident and which caused the hood latch to not work. I then told him how that was not the issue, the latch was never used and was bent because someone did not know how to latch it on and used my string to put the hood into place. They kept dismissing me and telling me that it was not their fault and would not let me explain the whole situation. They then walked away from me.

    I chose this shop because they participate with Costco to offer a coupon for 15% off parts, service, and accessories. When I called to get a quote, I double checked that I could use my coupon here and was told that I could. When I went to pay for the work, they told me they could only take off $50 with the coupon (which was not noted anywhere on the coupon). I was having around $2000 worth of work done. When I asked them to honor the coupon, they had me wait for some time. Then the owner of the shop, John, came out and was extremely aggressive. He then wanted me to come to the back into his office if I wanted the coupon to be honored. I felt extremely unsafe with his behavior and told them I wouldn’t go to the back, but would be more than happy to pay at one of the credit card machines in the main customer service area. He continued to be extremely aggressive. Finally, they honored the coupon and took the 15% off. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a mechanic. Please think twice about bringing your vehicle here.
