****** ****** Scammed me on my Mobile App Development with Them
I hired ****** ****** to build an app for me. Apparently they started off well on the Design Stage and when they got to the development stage, things started going wrong. I paid $1,000 for initialization stage, then $2,000 for design stage. The initialization is just to bring the team together so they said. The design stage is to design the app (these are just design pages). This part is easy and anyone can do the design stage. You can easily hire someone on odesk to create design pages for you.
At the development it stage cost $4,000 and I had to pay that upfront. Then they came back to me and said the project Manager **** ******* made a mistake with the costing and have to increase the fee by 50%. So the development stage increased by $8,000. Then I paid another $4,000. So they had $8,000 with them and they never stated the project.
At the development stage, they were slow to respond. I was getting concerned about the expertise of this company. So I decided to do more research on this company. I discovered that more people were complaining out this same company. An article published that the company is a scam. This is the link *****************************************************. This was recently published and I wish I saw this before contracting them.
I made payments through paypal and I asked paypal if I could have my $8,000 back and they mentioned that their company doesn't cover services. I have asked the company to refund me since development didn't start but no one is responding now.
Before, I contracted them they had an inviting website that was functioning and their office phone numbers were working. Then during development their website was down, their office phones numbers stopped working. When you call their office it will go engaged. The project manager wouldn't pick up his calls. So i decided to ask them to stop the project and request for the $8,000. The development stage was never started and I am asking for my money back
The only means of communicating with them is through their Avenue social base camp. Since I am asking for my money back no one is replying me.
They don't have an office in California they only receive mail there. Am not sure how to get my money back.
I will like $8,000 refunded back into my paypal account since they didn't start the development stage.
We have been in communication with this client and have resolved this dispute by giving her the refund. The refund has been settled where the terms are that we will be paying her in installments. The client has already received the first installment. I have the complete communications with the client via email as proof.

I have just received the first $2,000 payment. I hope to receive the next by April 1st. You said you could get me the other $6,000 by then. I hope to get a full refund soon.
Please ask client to cancel this complaint as this matter has been solved. If the client wants to dispute this here and not close the complaint. Then we will file for a chargeback on the paypal for which we paid her and also include our lawyers in the mix as the client agreed to a settlement yet opened a complaint on BBB.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
After several attempts to contact ****** ******* I posted a comment on the Ripoff website and also reported on BBB. I did not get a response from the company when I filed a complaint with BBB until one week after that I got a response. Then a *** contacted me. Before I even filed a complaint on BBB I had contacted the company several times but no response, none of their numbers were working. I filed a complaint on March 3rd but didn't get a response until March 6th. I had all rights to file a complaint against this company because none of there office lines were working and if you check their website has been down at www.socialjitney.com. So far the company has paid only $2,000 out of the $6,000. The promise was that I will get my remaining $6,000 in 3 months. So $2,000 will be paid in April, May and June. Joe said that it is possible that he will pay the remaining $6,000 in April but it might not be guaranteed.
This is his email response to me:
Thank you for your email.
Yes, it is guaranteed that you will be sent the US$ 2000 on March 1st. Once you receive this tranche and send me a confirmation, I will schedule your second tranche which will be for April 1st. The next one will be sent on May1st and the last will be sent on June 1st. This will complete the entire refund.
Please send me a confirmation when you receive the first installment on March 1st.
I am afraid I can't help you much about the payment schedule. The company has authorized this payment in installments and has set aside the budget for this. In any case, please confirm when you receive the first tranche of US$ 2000 on March 1st and I will try my best to increase the next installment amount.
The contract doesn't state this installment pattern for refunds, so am a bit worried. So since the company promised payments in installments, I hope to get my full payment by June or sooner. I am not sure why this company wants to get their lawyers involved when all I am asking for is my money back. I have also never seen a company pay refunds in installments unless their is a financial problem.
I will like to close this case but I will reopen it if the company does not pay my full refund by the first week of June.
Final Business Response
As per your communication above, please close this case as it has been settled. Your complete settlement will be completed by the first week of June. If this does not happen then you can reopen this but for now, this case is not closed so please close it asap so that the settlement terms are not breached.
