This company sold me fish they said were easy to breed. I have had them for almost a year and they show no signs of spawning despite ideal conditions. After some investigation, I do believe they are selling fish that have been chemically sterilized. They do not offer any easy way to communicate with them. Their email link does not work and their voicemail does not allow messages. In short, I believe consumers should be warned against this company.Review from Robert O

I can see why aquariumfish.net is not an accredited BBB business! I got my order and four fish were dead. Three of one species that NEED to be kept in a school of at least six. I had several conversations with them about temperatures for shipping both by phone and by email prior to ordering. They assured me the fish would be fine. The packing of the fish was subpar with only ONE heat pack and it was placed on the side inside the cooler and not under the fish to evenly distribute heat. Our temperatures were i the low 30s the night of shipment and all involved were aware of this. I tried calling about dead fish and no answer and cant leave a message. Sent emails within two hours with pictures as required by them. Actually sent the emails within 15 minutes. No response, Nothing. Started a PayPal resolution request and AS SOON as Aquariumfish got the email apparently from PayPal, I got an email saying my order was cancelled.. no refund, just cancelled. I guess they just close the book on orders where there is a problem. I wouldve taken a credit to be used next year when our weather was warmer but wont be using them again. They will be your best friend and are very prompt about talking and emailing before your order is placed but once youve paid, theyve gotten what they want. YOUR MONEY! Save your hard earned dollars, and some poor fish, and go to your local fish store and purchase there. Most LFS stores will place an order for you if youre looking for something they dont normally carry. The fish that survived took all afternoon to get going as the water temp in the water they were shipped in was 66 degrees! I very SLOWLY drip acclimated the fish which aquariumfish.net said in their paperwork NOT to do. They seem to be ok today but its a c*** shoot as to how much damage was done and how much this debacle shortened their lifespan. Maybe this is partially my fault as I shouldve just paid $$$ for shipping from another supplier instead of counting on their $36.99 flat rate overnight shipping charges.. They also REQUIRE for their warranty to just dump the fish in your aquarium WITHOUT acclimation AND TO ADD SALT. You cant add salt to a planted aquarium. It also wouldve definitely killed ALL the fish to dump them from 66 degree water into 80 degree water. If you do order from these people, please read through their shipping policy and reception of fish VERY carefully. That alone should dissuade you from using this business. I am VERY disappointed in Aquariumfish.net.Review from KMR

It started with me wanting to upgrade aquariums. My boys looked like they needed some girls. So I did research and found this company. Preparations made, I bought five fish: three female dwarf gouramis each of different colors, and two of the same killifish. Shipping live animals is common, all the places I searched shipped overnight, including this one. They arrived in deflated bags with approximately eight ounces of water in each bag. Two of the dwarf gouramis were laying at the bottom of their respective bags, and one of the killifish was floating. The floating is caused by gasses building up inside them after dying, all of which, I'm sure, can't happen overnight, let alone because of a heat wave when the temperature at delivery at 80--their preference. The sinking dwarf gouramis had white spots on them, which PARASITE I wasnt aware of until half way through it killing literally all my original fish. As for the surviving delivery fish, one of the dwarf gouramis wasnt what I ordered and should have been female, but he was amiable, so I didnt say anything.Anyway, it was just before 10am that I contacted the company, which is to say, someone's personal email address given on the website as a means of reporting issues. Two images were given, as the condition requires. Since I didnt hear anything before closing business hours, I scrambled and purchased three female gouramis from a competitor. He/They replied at 8:37pm late that night that I could get store credit or they can reship now, with me paying an additional $36.99 sent to their/his PayPal account. I requested store credit since they were out of stock on one of the more expensive dwarf gouramis from my order. He replied to my email that I had store credit on file, but nowhere on my account page did it suggest a store credit, nor did I see anything such as a deduction on my cart. I said so in my next email and a lot more, which elicited size 22pt font yelling reply that they dont sent sick fish, all I have to do is send another $36.99 to his PayPal account with a note, and thats how all almost all online fish stores operate. Actually, the competitor sent my fish immediately. All three arrived alive in a massive bag filled with water and tons of air. And other online stores have forms on their website, they dont make you send money to PayPal with a note to remember what they owe for sending dead fish. I sent one last email that floating fish cant happen overnight, among other rational points in appropriate font size.Since I had already given him $90, since the value of the dead fish hovered around $30, less than the cost of the $37 for shipping, that I would have to trust sending that money disconnected from the website to his PayPal with a note, to obtain potentially more diseased fish and a month-long headache of treatment and cleaning, I havent bothered with further communication or purchases. It appears they've added employee photos since my August nightmare.Review from Eldon W

Received shipment of 10 community type fresh water fish around 30 days ago. 1 serpant loach was doa. Sent email with image within 10 minutes and never received response. Since that time all but 3 remaining fish have passed in a similar fashion resembling death from internal parasites. 2 of the 3 remaining fish are sitting at bottom of tank not eating with sunken abdomens and white to clear thread like ***** discharge as I try to figure out how to kill internal worm parasites that obviously included in my fish order. Have a good number of healthy fish obtained locally that are thriving in my established 55 gal. tank.Review from Kevin S

Better to not do business with this place. They shipped overnight but *** kept the fish in the truck till late Afternoon. I followed there return contact policy and even filed a claim with *** on there behalf. they will replace the fish i lost but want me to spend an additional 36 dollars to have them shipped. Again when i requested that they just refund my money since there is no reason to kill more fish in shipping when they don't arrive early enough to be still alive. Now even though i have to drive over 60 miles I will purchase my fish here in *****. Since the customer service from this company isn't what it should be.Review from Samantha S

Fantastic. When I was first searching for somewhere to buyy fish I cam across these reviews. They made me really nervous to go with this company ...but I had watched an unboxing on youtube from 5 years ago that made me go.for it.I am so glad I did. Everything went perfect. They called me to let me know a fish was out of stock and offered a replacement. Added a free fish ( they ask you to annotate if that is ok or not) they let me know what time **** would deliver and I got email alerts through the entire process. The fish arrived a little shocked which was expected as they came cross country. Followed the directions, placed them in my tank and they began to perk right up. I will be ordering from them again and will recommend them to others. Please do not let these negative reviews deter you.Review from Matt D

WARNING DON'T USE THIS PLACE TO ORDER YOUR FISH! First I ordered their "Blue Zebra Angelfish" 6 of them to be exact and only 1 of the 6 is showing any blue! The rest are a dull golden color. Second I ordered Siamese algae eaters to put into the tank I put the Angelfish in to control an algae outbreak. When I received the algae eaters they were so tiny the Angelfish ate them the second I released them into the tank. Third their prices are OUTRAGEOUS! I paid $27.00 a piece for the 6 Angelfish I ordered from them just to get 1 of the color I actually wanted. I found another website that had Blue Zebra Angelfish for $7.99 a piece and ALL were actually blue!
