Complaint: I had two visits with the staff at Anderson Medical Center. They never informed that lab work would be an additional charge on top of the steep price for an office visit. During the second visit I asked "will there be an additional charge for lab work"? To which I was told, "it should just be what you pay up front", referring to the charge for the visit. Both visits I was charged $76.06 for lab work. Because I was informed lab work was included in the office visit, the second bill was assumed to be an additional notice of payment to the lab, which I paid. The second bill went unpaid because of what I was told at Anderson Medical Center and has since been sent to a collection agency. The erronious bill has now been paid in full.
Desired Settlement: I can understand the borderline shady business practice of not informing the patient of the additional lab bills, but when informed that the only payment required would be the office visit charge, I consider that fraud. I am looking for a refund of the second lab work bill of $76.06

Patient ***** ********** was seen at our clinic and had some laboratory tests that he requested.
The additional bills were from the lab and not from us. Patients are always advised that they will
receive a bill from the lab for their tests.
As a courtesy to our patients we collect lab specimens at our clinic instead of forcing patinets to
go to an additional location to get lab work done. We do not charge patinets any additional fee
We are sorry that the patient had a misunderstanding about the bill but that was between him and
