Additional Notes

Complaint: There are several complaints I would like to make public regarding National Culinary and Bakery School:1) General appearance of school. Looks run down. Lacks professional kitchen equipment.2) Understaffed Teachers. One Instructor teaches the Culinary and Baking class simultainiously, leaving students unattended for long periods at a time. There is one (1) Assistant Instructor, but that person primarily grades tests, runs arrends and tends to leave early in the day due to personal commitments unrelated to the school.3) Both Instructors are from foriegn countries. Both have expressed negative oppinions regarding the United States Government. At times it is dificult to retain information during lectures due to Instructors poor English skills (lack of proper wording and frequently repeating sentences becomes annoying).

Desired Settlement: I'm requesting that the $5,000.00 workforce Partnership grant be refunded. And, the $6,500.00 student loan be reversed.

Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The information provided by Chef instructor Chef ****** ********* is grossly inaccurate.  The ********* *********** (Organization who awarded me the 5,000.00) reviewed the circumstances and demanded that School Owner *** ***** graduate me.  The reason being: completion of all Homework and Tests including Serve Safe Food Satety Management Certificate.

I have recieved both my Cullinary Arts Diploma and Serve Safe Certificate, therefore the information that instructor ****** ********* is False and Inaccurate.  I have both documents to show apon request (These documents can be faxed or emailed).

The school originally promissed "Job Placement."  I found National Culinary was not fallowing through on this commitment.  I am now employed by the *** ***** ********** ****** ****** ***** ***********.  This had nothing to do with National Culinary and Bakery School.  I got the job because of my prior work history.

I will remove this information apon recieving a written apollogy fron Chef Instructor Sohrab Zardkoohi.  His inabillity to swallow his pride has caused way too many unnessesary problems

Regards,

****** *******

To whom it may concerned,

My name is ****** *********, and I am the executive chef instructor at National Culinary School. I also was the chef instructor for Mr. ****** ******* during his education here at National Culinary SchooL I feel strongly obligated towards my students, school's staff and myself to mention a few points regarding Mr. *******' performance here at school. Ever since Mr. ******* was my student, I had to talk and warn him in numerous times regarding his horrible behavior toward other students. Mr. ******* has made many racial and sexist remarks and jokes against other students who are immigrants and citizens of The United States like me. One of the students in his class dropped out of school because of his behavior and returned to school after Mr. ******* was expelled. I had many complaints from my other students regarding Mr. ******* making racial and sexist remarks and in several times threatening. In one instance, threatening towards myself for trying to instruct him the right way of cooking his vegetables in a stew, which resulted in having to call the Police Department. Mr. *******' behavior toward the students was so aggressive that the students were not feeling comfortable to be around him at the school. Moreover, Mr. ******* had a very ignorant attitude toward my instructions arid lectures and as well as my assistant, Chef ****** ** ****. There is not one single time that he followed any instructions. He always wanted to do his own way of cooking which the result in failing to complete his projects correctly.

Best Regard,

In the schools initial position, it has not been changed. I do take exception To his comment stated" The school originally promised Job Placement" This school in its advertising provides assistance for job placement not Guaranteed job placement as his comments indicates, furthermore that assistance becomes necessary when the student completes training, Whereas this student already had a chef job when terminated. I wish him Success at the *** ***** ********** ******. His file has been closed at
********* *********** according to his counselor and I have cancelled his Promissory note, He has never had any personal financial investment in the school during and since he became enrolled on 1-2-12.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I do not appreciate the term "Terminated."  I was never "Employed" by National Culinary and Baking School.  Therefore that term does not apply to this particular incident.

I have both hard copies of the Serve Safe Certificate and the "Graduation Certificate" that was personally signed by school owner "*** *****."  Those documents are evidence that I was "Graduated."  If I was "Graduated" than how is it that I was "expelled ?"

Regards,

****** *******
