Complaint: SO MY INSURANCE COMPANY ***** REFERRED ME TO THIS DENTIST. WHEN I WENT TO MY FIRST VISIT TO RECIEVE A CLEANING AND XRAYS, (THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE BECAUSE OF MY INSURANCE) THEY ASKED ME TO PAY $75 BECAUSE IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY NOT COVERED. SO I PAID THE AMOUNT AND CONTACTED MY INSURANCE A COUPLE DAYS LATER TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WASN'T COVERED, AND THEY STATED IT WAS. SO REALLY IRRITATED I CALLED THE DENTAL OFFICE AND THE SECRETARY SAID TAHT THE REASON I WAS CHARGED IS BECAUSE THEY PREFORMED A DEBRIMENT WHICH WAS A PRE-CLEANING TO MY DEEP CLEANING AND NOT A REGULAR CLEANING. WHEN I CONFROTED HER AND TOLD HER THAT SHE WAS THE ONE THAT TOLD ME THAT MY INSURANCE DID NOT COVER THE CLEANING AND I WAS NEVER TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT HTHIS DEBRIMENT THING SHE STATED THAT IT WAS HER JOB TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS A DEBRIMENT AND SINCE SHE DIDN'T THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE $75 OUT OF HER OWN POCKET. I TOLD HER THAT I DON'T BELIEVE IT COMES OUT OF YOUR PAY BUT REGARDLESS I WOULD LIKE MY REFUND. SHE STATED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE THE DENTIST CALL ME TO CLEAR IT UP. I WAITED A FEW DAYS AND TO NO SHOCK HE NEVER CALLED. I CALLED BACK ATLEAST A DOZEN TIMES AND EVERY TIME HE WAS BUSY OR I WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR HOURS. LONG STORY SHORT THEY SCAMMED ME FOR THE $75. I THEN FILED A COMPLAINT WITH *****, AND THEY FORWARDED IT TO THE DENTIST. I THEN RECIEVED A COPY OF THE COMPLAINT WITH HIS COMMENTS ON IT STATING THAT THEY INFORMED ME OF THE CHARGES AND THEY NEEDED NO WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION TO PERFORM THE WORK OR KEEP COPIES IN MY FILE AND THE COST WAS ONLY $60, THEN WENT ON TO SAY THAT I MISSED MY NEXT SCHEDULED APPT (WHICH I NEVER ASKED FOR OR SETUP SO THATS ALL NEW NEWS TO ME) AND THAT THEY CHARGE $$100 AN HOUR AND MY APPT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN HOUR AND A HALF SO I OWE THEM ANOTHER $75. (REALLY RIDICULOUS) BUT AS A KIND GESTURE THEY WERE GONNA WAVE THE OTHER $75 DOLLARS AND CALL IT EVEN. THERE SO SMART THAT IN THERE COMMENTS THEY STATED IT COST $60 FOR THE DEBRIMENT BUT I HAD PAID THEM $75 AND I HAVE THE RECIPT TO PROVE IT. THE NAME OF THE IS DENTIST ****** ******

Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK AND AN APOLOGY AND NOT TO LET THEM DO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE.....THANK YOU

Please be advised that the issue brought to our attention on 11/18/2011 was resolved and patient was withdrawn his complaint accordingly. We spoke with the patient and explained the charges that was incurred on his previous visit and patient understood. As a courtesy, we have refunded the patient $75.
