?I received two bids from two roofing companies to re roof the whole house. I hired Cal Vintage Roofing because of all the great reviews and not because the price (in fact they are higher I even called the owner and told her that after I put down the deposit). Why 1 star? lack of communications. 1) Dec 12th 21 Spoke to **** and accepted the bid.2) Feb 10th 22 start the job 3) Feb 16th 22 Received a text from ***** about a dry rod on fascia boards I requested from him. Nowhere on this change order form indicated owner must prime and paint the wood.4) Feb 18th 22 Morning received pictures the job was done. After I saw the pictures, I immediately text him why these board are not painted? ***** told is not part of the change order. On the same day within ONE HOUR RECD AN EMAIL from Vanessa *** photo of email. They can not call final and I must sign a letter before they can call final. I spoke to ***** try to resolve the issue, but he told me he will have **** call me back.5) Feb 23rd 22 after I waited for two days no call from **** I emailed the company asking please have **** call me back. Finally, **** called back the same day and he told me he will talk to the owner and get back to me.No email or call back from any representative of the company and at 5PM on Friday Feb25th received an email demand remaining balance of $25K. no paperwork from the city attached other than an invoice. I did not any letter and not sure how did they can call final. This is a $25K job. Lack of communicate to keep me in the loop. It is super easy to have couple boards paint before installed. I think they just try to rush the job and move to a new one. Yelper, please consider learning from this look around make sure company will keep you in the loop. I want them to paint the wood or credit my back so I can get the wood paint
