Complaint: Too many to choose from. 1. The first thing is truth in advertisement. I was informed that they are the manufactures of their own siding. Not true 2. The next issue is mishandling of paper work. I had to resign documents due to the fact the incorrect paperwork was not returned to the office. 3. Incorrect billing. They were suppose to bill 50% at the beginning of the installation and 50% at the end. Well a month before any work started an associate arrived at the house to take measurements (even after the measurement were already taken by the salesman) and then that associate tricked my wife into initialing a paper that he claimed it just proved that he made the visit for the measurements, but in reality it allow them to bill the loan company, and then they billed the loan company over 60%, not the 50% they agreed to. 4. Customer service. During the consultation the salesman did not even have us choose the color of our gutters, nor did he inform us that the gutter colors they offered didn't match any of the siding that they offered. 5. Repair issues. 2 months later I have siding falling off my house. Contacted the installer, still no results.

Desired Settlement: The company needs to fix my siding. The company needs to train their people the truth about their company and quit falsely informing consumers about their company and their products. They need to adhere to their contract agreements and follow through correctly will all of their billing. The need to clean up their paperwork issues.

Business Response:

This is the first we are hearing from this customer after the completion of the project. He may have contacted the installer directly but the installer did not relay the information. We left the customer with a packet on who to contact if he needs customer service, we never tell a customer to contact the installer directly. We just called and he told us to call back this evening. So we will call back this evening and try to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Business Response:

We are scheduled to go out there tomorrow between 10am and 12pm. We will inform you once we have taken care of this customer.

Complaint: Window installation itself went fine. A question about our interpretation and the completion of the contract has arisen. 2 weeks ago, we spoke with our salesman and were assured the problem would be taken care of. Since then, we have received no return call, no action on the request. We left 2 more messages last week, still no response. They have been paid in full and that is a concern.

Desired Settlement: Ideally it would be nice if the business honored their customer service promises. We would like to hear from them & have the problem resolved.

Business Response: We did speak with this customer. The issue is that we installed sliding screens instead of full screens. We will be out there by next Friday to install the new screens by the end of next week.

Additional Notes

Complaint: I have been trying to get hail damaged vinyl repair for almost 2 years now. Last year a representative from California called and told me that since the vinyl was damaged by hail we needed to go through our insurance company. At that time the damage was minimal and we were willing to pay for labor. The representative told me that we would be contacted by someone from probably the Denver area to fix the damaged vinyl Still have not received a call and on 7/28/16 our house was hit with a bad hail storm which did more damage to the vinyl on our house which I am sure insurance will pay for the damage. I have called the corporate customer service number ************** *** **** for ******* *******. The only thing I get is a recorded message saying leave a message and someone will contact you in one business day. Today is Wednesday I called Monday and here it is almost 3 business days later and no call. Needless to say this company has no problem taking our money but when it comes to getting hail damaged vinyl fixed good luck. I really do not believe this company cares, just look at the complaints. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Desired Settlement: Please just do what your company is supposed to do and have someone who can replace the hail damaged vinyl contact us. I am tired of being told we will get a call and never do. The more K-Designers lets this problem continue the more damage to our home will take place. Thank you.

Business Response: Our customer service rep ******* ********* was out of the office on Monday. She was returning calls yesterday and today. She spoke with this customer this morning, and has already set up a service for us to go to this cusotmers home later this week. I will inform the BBB once we have come to a resolution.

Consumer Response:
Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and so far I am happy that this issue is moving along.  I will not close this complaint until all damages to the vinyl are replaced as it has taken way too long for this to be done.  I do appreciate the call yesterday from *******.

Additional Notes

Complaint: We contracted with K designers in April, 2015. In June,2015 they re-sided our house. By Aug. we had to have them redo most of the project for failed installation. Over the winter more issues surfaced. We have been in an ongoing conversation with cooperate to try and get our house fixed. As we could not reach an agreement, we had the home inspected by an independent inspector in June. 2016. The siding installation failed the inspection in many areas. My contact at cooperate agreed over the phone that what the inspection revealed they would correct. They have now offered to correct only some of the problems, but the major issue that is causing ongoing water damage to our home they will not correct unless we spend more out of pocket. We do not believe that we need to spend more then we have already paid in good faith for this company to fix a problem that their own installer admitted was done incorrectly. The major unresolved complaint is that the metal fascia wrap that K designs installed does not go all the way up under the roof drip edge. It only goes about an inch up under the gutters. The inspector passed the roof and the roof drip edge as correct. The gutter installation is also correct. The proper way to wrap the plywood fascia with metal per the inspectors report was to remove the gutters and wrap the fascia to the top. K designers installer admitted to the inspector that he agrees, that was the correct way to do it. But, now K designs is demanding that we pay some one else to remove and replace the gutters so they can fix their mistake. At no point in the sales pitch or at any time in this whole process were we ever informed that the gutters would have to be removed independently. If the gutters needed to be removed, and K designers could not do that, even though their installer said to us he could, and K does gutter installation, then that should have been made clear during the sales agreement. It is K's responsibility to resolve this issue, without any cost to us.

Desired Settlement: K designs needs to honor their guarantee and fix all of the issues revealed in the inspection, and any other problems that have been discovered in the past weeks. Our house needs to be sided correctly, and be made water tight and able to pass any inspection. Any damage that has been caused by the water over the past year needs to be corrected by K designs. We will not pay for any part of the repair and redo of the siding project.

Business Response: We have it scheduled to go do some service to resolve their issues on Monday 7/25/2016. We will respond to you immediately after

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:We fully expect K Design to come on the 25th, but we also expect them to do ALL the work needed to repair our home. The contract we have states wrapping all the fascia, not partially covering it. There is no and never was any mention of our needing to pay extra for gutter removal to make that happen. We want a finished home as we contracted for!

Consumer Response: Hi, I talked with you on the phone two days ago.  I attempted to email that day.  It did not get to you and I got the auto return message yesterday.  I am sorry.  Sense I talked to you there has been movement on my complaint.  K designs has agreed to pay the repair costs as far as the gutter part goes.  They are supposed to start work today.  I have a partial punch list of planned repairs.  IF they follow up with a complete punch list and actually do the full repair, I will be satisfied.  If that happens, I would then drop my complaint with you but I would still like a record of this year long debacle to be on their record.  How do I do that?  Please respond so I know that this went through this time.  Thank you.

Complaint: Have called multiple times over the last 72 hours. Spoke to several individuals and asked them to remove me from their call list, calls still came. Spoke to a manager named ******** who assured me I was removed. They called again, I spoke to ******** as well as an individual in their IT department who assured me there would be no future calls.

Desired Settlement: I would like them punished for calling homes multiple times a day even after they were told to stop. Their rating with BBB should be lowered.

Business Response: We had a new employee make a mistake, in loading our predictive dialer. She was trained, but didnt fully understand her training. As soon as we became aware of the problem we fixed it right away. This customer is on our Do Not Call List, and this will not happen again.

Consumer Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I was informed by ******** that they have every right to call my house and that it could take 72 hours to remove me from the list.  She made no mention of a training issue with an employee.  The second time I spoke to ******** she said it was an IT issue and put their IT person on the phone with me.  He said it was an issue with their soft ware and that he had to remove the first 3 digits of my zip code in order for my number t be removed.

So number one even without any issues with software, 72 hours is far to long when the system was calling my house 5-10 times a day.  Secondly not taking their system down once a problem was noted is also an issue.  I believe their response to be a complete fabrication.

Additional Notes

Complaint: I was told at the time of purchase somebody would be coming by my residence to inspect the finished product which never happened as well as putting a front door in that didn't fit after ordering two doors. The door which at the time I had no other option due to the damage that was done to my existing door after having removed it twice than to keep the ugly door they ordered for me. I have had nothing but problems with the locking mechanism since date of installation because it dosnt fit correctly and now I can't lock it at all and have yet to receive a phone call after submitting a work order on line. I will have to admit I thought the company was great thanks to the salesperson but the company hasn't followed through with any of the customer service guarantees I thought I was getting. It's been 5 days and I advised the customer service representative that my front door wasn't locking and still am waiting for a phone call five days later. I just want other customers to know that the product and the customer service dosnt turn out to be anything less than unsatisfactory and to please not believe all the positive information that you are told when your dooped into believing that this is an outstanding company not to mention have never received any information on the free cruise I was suspose to receive at the time of my purchase of a front door, garage door and all window in my hope. I'm calling this company a fraud and just want others to shop around before they purchase anything thinking they're getting the best product out there. Extremely disappointed in Stockton Ca.

Desired Settlement: I would like a front door that fits in my door opening so I don't continue to be unable to secure my home which was never a problem with 40 year old door. I think replacing with a door like I had is not too much to ask considering I've only had it a year and had to call customer service 4 times. Who wants to buy a product that dosnt secure this day and age (not me) but I did and after spending $30,000 who can afford to buy another one (not me).

Business Response: We made an appointment with this customer to asses the door for tomorrow. Her cruise certificate was mailed to her back in 2015, but we are sending the service technichian with a copy of her certificate tomorrow. Our last contact with Ms. Roe was in 2015, at that time we serviced her door, but have heard nothing about her door until recently. We will advise the status of the service once it is completed.

Consumer Response: I feel my door hardware should be replaced due to ongoing issues with the locking mechanism. I don't feel K-Designers keeps their word and don't think you should wait 5 business days for service when you can't lock your door securely. I just want other customers to be aware that they don't stand behind their products and don't care that their customers aren't satisfied with the products that you pay more for because you think your dealing with a well reputable company when your actually not.

Complaint: On April 23, 2016, we entered into a valid contract with K-Designers to install a shower enclosure. The contract became binding 3 days later when neither party cancelled. Despite the advertisement on their website which promised "you don't pay until the job is done and you're satisfied," they took a check from us for half the contracted price. (Lie #1) We were told that a rep would contact us in a few days to set up a time to take measurements. (Lie #2) When that call never came, we initiated the call and were told someone would call or come to the house within the week. The next call that we received informed us that K-Designers were breaching the contract and would not perform the work. (Lie #3) They also said they had not cashed our check, (Lie #4) and if they had, they would personally return it to our home. (Lie #5) A week later we discovered they HAD cashed the check. When we called about that, they told us to come by their office to pick up the refund. We told them that was unacceptable as they had promised to personally return the money. At this point, we want the work that we contracted for completed. We never let them off the hook for the contracted work. As I understand the law, since K-Designers is in breach, if I get another contractor to complete the work, K-Designers will be responsible to pay the difference in price. Before we go that route, we would like K-Designers to make this right and complete the work they agreed to do.

Desired Settlement: Since K-Designers is in breach of a the contract, if we get another contractor to complete the work, K-Designers will be responsible to pay the difference in price. Before we go that route, we would like K-Designers to make this right and complete the work they agreed to do. We have already invested a lot of time with K-Designers, meeting with their sales rep and trying to get them to honor their word. If we have to go with another contractor, K-Designers should be held accountable.

Business Response: The full refund was returned to *** ***** in early May. At this time our manager thought Mr. ***** was satisfied to cancel the agreement. They have not contacted us since receiving the full refund. We are now attempting to contact Mr. ***** to inform him that we will order the materials and complete our contract with him as originally agreed. The job will be completed in about 3 weeks. We will respond to the BBB when completed to Mr. *****'s satisfaction.

Complaint: The company does not return my calls. I have called multiple times to get the rest of the work scheduled from my home. The work was only partly done in the first place. I started working with one Marketing Director who promised many things but didn't put the promises in the contract. Once the workers came they only did part of the work that was stated in the contract. Apparently the marketing director who first sold us the services quit the company. We have since been given a new marketing director who has not retuned our calls. In fact, I have talked to the production manager and an assistant and they have both told me a similar tale: I will leave a message, but if we don't get back to you please call back in a week. It has now been three months of calling back every few weeks to try and get in touch with the Marketer and the Production Manager to get the rest of the work scheduled.

Desired Settlement: We need to have the job finished to what was promised or at least what was in the contract. They have already received their payment so I worry that they will not honor the rest of the contract.

Business Response: We spoke with this customers, they need 4 door wraps and hardware for the garage door, which we will have completed by next week.

Complaint: We were told that our siding had a lifetime warranty for any problems. This was the primary reason we purchased from them. They are not honoring what we were told and said that the labor was only guaranteed for a year and the siding was only guaranteed for factory defects. This is not what we were led to believe from the salesperson

Desired Settlement: The siding is sagging in parts and fell off in others.

Complaint: I signed with K Designers for 8 windows and a sliding glass door on 09/30/2015. The installers arrived 11/01/2015 but, due to an error in measuring, they were missing one of the windows. When the available windows and door were installed, **** ***** at the Billings, MT office, requested that I sign off on the agreement in order to receive the promised discounts. In exchange for signing, **** stated he would make my first loan payment and send me a rebate for the missing window the next day. He also stated he would ***** the window to my home when it was ready and call the installers to come put it in. I received no checks and no window. The installer came 12/21/2015 with the window but did not have enough material to finish the outside. He said he would be back to finish the job after the first of the year. I called **** to advise of the situation and he said he would ***** a box of the material to my home immediately and contact the installer to finish the job. I asked about the checks and was told he had sent the "first" payment and would check with his secretary about the rebate check. I finally got the "first" payment in time to make the third loan payment. I have yet to receive the rebate or the construction material and the job has yet to be completed. **** does not follow through on his promises despite the fact that I did him a favor by signing off on the agreement with the expectation that I was dealing with an honest, reputable businessman that appreciated the positive word of mouth I could deliver to support his business and entice potential customers. Additionally, I was not given a copy of the sales agreement at the time I signed. I thought this was an oversight but have never received a copy despite multiple requests.

Desired Settlement: I want the job finished, a copy of the sales agreement for tax purposes, and the promised rebate.

Business Response: We have left 2 messages for this customer since yesterday. We will continue to try to reach him and inform you of the resolution we come to.

Consumer Response: **** has said the rebate check is coming from the front office, that he will send me a copy of the sales agreement, that he will contact the installer to finish the job, and that he will contact me Monday or Tuesday to touch base and let me know how things are progressing.  I will not consider this complaint resolved until everything has been finalized.

Business Response: We should have this completed by the end of next week. The rebate check and copies of the contract were sent to the customer. We will advise once the work is completed

Complaint: Started in July 2015. Two Windows apparently developed leaks between panes which made the windows look cloudy. Denver KDesigners sent out an installer that verified this problem and took measurements for replacement windows. Attempted to get progress reports and called the Denver Office on 7/17, 7/27, 8/19, 8/24, 8/31, 9/3, 10/9, 10/20, 10/21, and finally on 11/19. Talked with *****, the Production Manager - every time I talked with him, he said it would take approximately 2 weeks to get the replacements from his supplier and that it would cost $165 for labor but the material was covered. Told ***** that this was OK. ***** NEVER CALLS BACK IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO HIM YOU NEED TO KEEP CALLING. Talked with *****, supposedly the Regional Manager - he said that he would check and Actually did Call back and said that he talked with the supplier and it would take approximately 2 weeks and could install about a week after that (Sound familiar??) - cost would be $220 for labor, which was OK and told ***** to go ahead, and the material would be covered. Neither ***** or ***** were available for the 11/19 call however, ****** the receptionist indicated that she would call "Corporate" and have them get back to me - Never got a call from them either. Bottom line - These folks talk a good story and keep you going with the "Approximately 2 weeks then we can set up installation" but NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH. It is VERY DOUBTFUL that the replacement windows were ever ordered from their supplier. I find it hard to believe that they could not get the replacement windows from July thru November!

Desired Settlement: Live up to your "LIFETIME" Warranty and replace the faulty windows.

Business Response: We received the new glass units, we are calling the customer to schedule the installation of those glass units.

The installer (****) was EXCELLENT.  Worked quickly and professionally.  The original Complaint was resolved to our satisfaction.

However, while looking at another window, he noticed that the window was damaged and the installation was not correct.  He took pictures and is recommending that the entire window be replaced.

Complaint: My wife and I spoke to K-designers about having a bay window w/ seat installed in our house. We had pictures of what we wanted the window to look like as a finish product. The sales representativeensured us that the product that we would be paying for would look like the picture of what we wanted. The sales representative said that part of the project (the bookshelves) would have to be installed by a different contractor at a separate cost, which we agreed upon. The contractor was installing the window and I asked him how the seat would look when it was finished. The contractor stated that they didnt know that they were building a bench style seat. I asked him what he was going to build and he said he was installing the window and a light fixture. The contractor also stated that if he was to install the casing on the inside of the window that it would cost more money to have it removed for the bookshelves to be installed. K-designers wanted us to pay full price for the install which we have no problem doing if I were to get the product that the representative ensured us we would receive. K-designers were great with returning call, but they offered us a discount (minimal) instead of installing what we requested.

Desired Settlement: I would like for them to finish the job. I do not mind paying for a service, but in this case I do not feel like the services promised were rendered. They offer a discount on the window, but I just want the job finished.

Business Response: We are still working on coming up with a solution for this project. We have been in contact with the customer via email, but they are both deployed, so it has been a little difficult comming to a quicker conclusion. We are working on getting their seat extended, and pricing it out. We would like to get the information for the company who will instal the bookshelves as it will be best to coordinate with them on the seat extension.

Complaint: I am writing you concerning my bad experience with this business. I called + was told they do have a business license in Utah. They phoned me and made an apt. to come to my home + test the air; + they looked at my one window + ultimately told me the air in my home was O.K. then they asked me if I was interested in a security door. They showed me a picture + it was a nice looking door. ****** ***** stated to fell out a form for the purchase of that door. He put the paper in front of me to sign + where to sign, not to mention, filling out this form would cost me $100.00. I was under the impression this $100.00 was a pre-pml on the door, wasn’t. He was charging me $100.00 to fill out a form, which was 2 sentences 3 lines each. He had a person with him who said nothing, done nothing, + was nothing. They went outside then came in and said they would replace my yard lites for $1000.00- I told them no. I feel very taken advantage of and they miss-represented who they are for the testing of the air in my home. With no previous mention of doors or lites or windows. Also, I was not feeling well as I had been hospitalized the previous month. I was in no mind or interested to buy doors-windows or lites, but would allow to test the air in my home. This is a scam and I would like my $100.00 back, I had paid for this bad business. Can you settle this for me. Stop anyone else to be swindled? I was going to buy the security door they showed me a picture of. On their papers said door was to be put on my house approx.-May 5th-May 25/2015-I did not see or hear from them for over a month. I called them-they said “approx. date”- well, approx isn’t a month or two or more. They made apt; with me 3 times, + each time did not come or call. It was late June-27th when I called them + was told the door was in. they sent 2 young boys in a old p.u. with a door. When undone, it was not the door I ordered. It was a door I could purchase @ any lumber yard or vaccinity avid ware. They was going to put this on my front doorway. But it wouldn’t fir! No one took any measurements. Notes on this- it was not wide enough- they box it up + left. It was not the door in the picture ****** showed me. I called them later in July + talked with **** *****- no help- I told them I didn’t want any door from them. I am 85 years old- on a fixed income, and cannot deal with this sort of bad influence. Thanks for you services- ***** *******

Desired Settlement: I was in no mind or interested to buy doors-windows or lites, but would allow to test the air in my home. This is a scam and I would like my $100.00 back, I had paid for this bad business

Business Response: We credited the customers credit card for the $100 paperwork processing fee.

Consumer Response:

Thank you for your early response to my problem. K-Designers returned my $100.00 by placing the money into my Bank acct. Oct. 29 2015- I didn't know this until it showed up on my bank statement, which I received Nov. 7, 2015-

Thanks again for your help.

Complaint: Vinyl siding installed on the front of our home in 2004. Around the planter and the column the siding has split, cracked, and some pieces are literally hanging off. I contacted K Designers and they washed their hands of everything. Not only have they been unwilling to return some of my phone calls, customer service agents give conflicting information. One says "lifetime guarantee" the other says "guarantee doesn't apply to me". In addition, they claim that because they have moved out the Southern California region, they will charge ME to send one of their repairmen down to my home to fix the broken siding. After sending pictures of my deteriorating siding, they came back with a quote of $1174 and that doesn't even cover the cost of the materials! I get it that there will be wear and tear but I feel K Designers should take responsibility for the poor workmanship when installing the vinyl siding near the planter and on the column.

Desired Settlement: K Designers should cover the cost of the repairs to our home to restore it to the original promised condition. I'm willing to pay some money to show good faith as I believe wear and tear is typical but not more than $200. They should be responsible for the rest.

Business Response: We are going to contact this customer and try to come up with a resolution as soon as possible. We will inform you the outcome

Business Response:

We have an inspection fee of $125.00 to go to the home and make the inspection. ********* ***** did not want to pay any inspection fee. This job is 11 years old. We asked for pictures to be sent and when we received the pictures they clearly showed that the siding had been damaged which is not covered in the warranty.
We will make every attempt to help this customer and if she is reasonable then we will do all we can to resolve her situation. We will give her a bery low offer to make the repairs caused by something else that must have been banged in the siding materials.
We hope to have this resolved by November 20th and will respond on or before November 20th.
Please see attachment for the picture of the damaged siding.

Consumer Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

Firstly, I was told in the first business response that the business would contact me to settle things.  No contact has been made. No phone call from them.  Then another message comes thru the BBB painting the picture that I am asking them to fix damaged siding and alluding to me being "unreasonable".  At no time have I been unreasonable.  I chose not to pay the $125 fee because I was told nothing of the sort....I was told it would cost over $1100 to have someone fix this and that did NOT include materials.   I was even told the $125 fee wouldn't apply to me because they had moved out of the Southern California area and it would cost me much more to have one of their contractors come to my home.

Secondly, I am not asking K Designers to fix the damaged siding.  I am asking them to fix the siding that has deteriorated and is the result of poor workmanship.  Of the multiple pictures I sent to them showing the deterioration, they chose to highlight the one where a hole has been punched in the siding.  Of course this is clearly the fault of our gardener and I wouldn't expect them to fix.  The reason for sending that particular photo was to show the swelling in the siding where the plants have grown up inbetween the concrete planter and the siding causing the siding to release from the screws and break apart. There are many other issues with the siding in the other photos that K Designers is not addressing in this complaint.

Referring to me being reasonable......if you re-read the original complaint, you will notice that I DID offer to pay a portion of the repair up to $200.  This is completely reasonable considering it's nearly 20% of the expected labor on this repair.

This matter needs to be resolved and K Designers needs to have a manager call me back and discuss the issues and figure out a solution instead of the back and forth on this BBB site.

Business Response:

We sent this email to ********* *****

Hi *********,

I will be happy to send someone out to asses what is needed, and will give you the best possible price for anything that is not covered under warranty. However there is a $125 fee to inspect but I will reduce it to $90 for you at this time. If we do make repairs for you at the reduced price we will credit the $90 toward that cost. It will be up to you to decide as we will may be able to do the repairs for less than our original quote of over $1100. However, please understand that watering planters and growing plants over a period of 11+ years will affect our warranty for the work done as there can be shifting, moving and swelling that has nothing to do with the origial product or workmanship standing up. We will do everything we can to help you resolve this so please let me know what you decide. We will wait to hear from you.

Complaint: On 7/20/15 we had k designers come give us a bid on home for siding/Windows.***** ******** came to do thatHe then told us we would be a model home for the area and would get discounts for putting up their name and products. He told me that day my credit would not work that my husband needed a co signer . Then they continued to run my credit even after that and then they put the whole loan in the co signers name!!! With out permission they did it without us on the loan and without asking the co signer.Without letting us see or go over the financial papers. That we still have never seen. Still to this day the job isn't finished and the 2 exclusive round trip cruises haven't been followed threw with. Then I found out I was over charged for the job. And it is illegal to change loan papers and run my credit that many times. I believe they did a bait and switch and fraud.

Desired Settlement: I want them to fix it all. I want them to be charge with fraud

Business Response: THIS COMPLAINT WAS RESOLVED WITH THE CUSTOMER.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because: As of 10,03,2015  they haven't done anything. Except put us off. Not one thing has been done to fix the problem.

Business Response:

We reversed the financing charges, and once that hits the account the customer will need to cancel the account and we can reapply in the manner that they want. We also reduced the contract price to nearly half and added additional work that was not in the original contract. The additional work should be completed by the end of next week, as well as the financing changes should be cleared up by then. Once we have a final resolution we will inform the BBB.

Complaint: When K Designers came to my house and sold me on windows for my house, I was sold on the Lifetime warranty. If a window or screen needs repair it will be done free of charge. That they would have somebody come out here and fix whatever it is for free because of the Lifetime warranty. I call K Designs and said that my window has spots in the inside of the window and a few of my screens has holes and I need those replaced. I was told that it will be a labor charge for the window repair and a labor charge for the screens that needs to be replaced. I said to them I was sold on the Lifetime warranty that you would fix whatever it is free. I was told if a kid outside hits the window with a basketball and the window breaks that would be covered. If the screens get holes they would be replace free under the Lifetime warranty. None of that was true after calling to see about getting my window replaced and screens fixed. I was ripped off sold on the Lifetime warranty on the product and that is just not true at all. I paid over 10K to have my windows replaced and was sold on the Lifetime warranty. I would like to have my windows fixed and new screens as I was sold on free repair and replacement of product is something happened.

Desired Settlement: Fix window with spotsreplace screens

Business Response: WE SPOKE WITH THE CUSTOMER ON 9/21 TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUES WERE. WE TOLD HIM THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO LOCATE HIS FILE SO WE COULD ORDER NEW GLASS AS WE ALREADY HAD THE MEASUREMENTS IN HIS FILE. ON 9/28 OUR PRODUCTION MANAGER LEFT THE CUSTOMER A MESSAGE STATING THAT SINCE THE JOB WAS OVER 10 YEARS AGO WE COULD NOT LOCATE HIS FILE. HE SAID WE NEED TO SCHEDULE A TIME TO COME OUT AND MEASURE AND CHECK THE WINDOWS AND SCREENS TO SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. THIS CUSTOMER HAD A 1 YEAR LABOR WARRANTY, SO WHEN HE ORIGINALLY CALLED WE DID QUOTE HIM A FEE FOR THE LABOR, HOWEVER, WE ARE NOT CHARGING A FEE TO THIS CUSTOMER. OUR PRODUCTION MANAGER IS GOING TO GIVE HIM A CALL AGAIN TODAY TO TRY TO GET THIS SCHEDULED SO WE CAN FIX HIS WINDOWS AND SCREENS, AND REPLACE THEM IF NECESSARY. ONCE WE HAVE A DATE AND TIME SCHEDULED WE WILL ADVISE.

Complaint: I have been contacted by this company relentlessly for about a year. I finally had an estimate done for 6 windows in my older home in April but declined due to price. They have still been calling and when I said it was too much he brought the estimate down $1000. I still declined but then decided to have them do it. Even after agreeing I have been called back on two occasions and was told that they could beat that price and when I confronted the manager **** about that he told me that these people didn't work for him and I couldn't cancel the order. I have the names of the two sales people that called. One was ******* ********** and the other was *****. **** told me over the phone that He could give me $350 off the price for my trouble if I paid in cash but I haven't received any written conformation on that. My point is that I really don't want to deal with this company at all. I have been harassed and bullied to the point of submission. I had to pay a $100 deposit to start the order and I really feel pushed into this. I feel that they have been dishonest with me. Maybe they shouldn't have sales call after you have agreed and offer more savings. I wrote down their names and the company they called for but **** said they don't work for his company. They are representing KDesigners. **** the manager that I talked to accused me of lying about those calls. Like I said. I just want out. I feel deceived and bullied. This is coming out of my retirement and I want the fairest price. If their estimate was honest how can they call you over and over to offer you a better price.

Desired Settlement: I would like to not do business with this company. I do not think they do things honestly. If I cannot get out of the deal I want the discount that the callers told me that they could do better than what I was already getting. I think the company needs to rethink their selling strategy. It probably not in their best interest to tell people they have already sold to that they can get a lower price. The calls after the sale finished my patience with this company.

Consumer Response:

Complaint: When the sales manager ****** showed up at our door unannounced, we listen to him even though we were not prepared for discuss the windows that we are looking to replace. I normally get at least 3 quotes on any project I am looking to do. The sales manager measured all windows to give us a quote. We set up an appointment with the agreement that I was just looking to get a quote; I had military duty coming up on the weekend that he wanted to come back. I was hesitant because I had gotten notice that I may not have a job come October, due to budget cuts, and I was very clear on that. When he showed to give us our quote, their numbers were very high and I told him I cannot do this project at those prices. He was very persistent and downright pushy and would not take no for an answer. Finally it was decided that we would look at replacing 1 window and it was pending on a meeting with one of my supervisors on the weekend of 2-3 May. I reluctantly agreed to let him know by the following Monday what the decision would be based on my meeting. I got back and called a person back to let him know that my job would not be guaranteed past October and could not do the project. Over a month lapsed before we heard anything. He has now been harassing and threatening my wife now that I am away on my two week annual training. This I will not tolerate and if he steps foot in my house I will have him arrested. This has been the worst experience with this company, I will never conduct business with company ever again. This is predatory salesmanship.

Desired Settlement: This was a tentative agreement on something that I was coersed into signing. I thought it was clear that I would not be able to go through knowing that my job may be in jeopardy. I may have to resort to legal counsel.

Business Response: We sent this letter to the email address provided. We are also sending this letter in the mail to the customer in tomorrows mail. Once we come to a resolution we will notify the BBB.

Complaint: This company won't stopping making unsolicited sales calls. Even though my elderly mother (with dementia) is on the Do Not Call registry, they continue calling her. I notified the company and told them we were not interested in their products and did not want any more calls from them. The salesperson apologized and said they would put her on their DNC list. Several days later a salesman showed up at her door. I angrily insisted that we were not interested and did not want any more contact from them. Since then the calls have continued on a daily basis. This kind of behavior is unscrupulous. They prey upon the most vulnerable members of our society. What they're doing is not only illegal it's immoral.

Desired Settlement: I want this company to stop calling my elderly mother. I would also like an apology from them for their disrespect, and the irritation and aggravation they have caused.

Business Response: On June 17, our Scheduling manager in our Call Center replied to Ms. *********** via email to let her know that after investigating the phone number that she indicated she was receiving calls on was put on our internal Do Not Call List on August 30, 2012.  The manager apologized to Ms. *********** on behalf of the company.  She placed the same phone number to our Do Not Call list once again, and said that if she had any other numbers that she would like on this list, to let us know.

On June 18, Ms. *********** responded to the email to thank our manager for making sure the number was on the Do Not Call list.  She had another number that was a concern (her elderly mother) and asked that the number also be added to the list.

We added the number to the list indicating that it generally takes about 48 hours to drop off our calling lists, however, we will make every effort to ensure her that her mothers number is not called again.  We again apologized to Ms. *********** for any inconvenience this has caused.

Consumer Response:
Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Consumer Response:

I appreciate the efforts of the Better Business Bureau in supporting honest, fair business practices and guarding against the unscrupulous ones.  Last year I filed a complaint with your office against K Designers of California because of their repeated, unwanted sales calls to my elderly mother in Utah.  In June of 2014, their corporate office did offer an apology and agreed to remove both my phone number and hers from their call list.  That sales complaint and resolution are found on your website dated 6/26/2014.  Irritatingly enough, the company has started calling my mother again.  She received a phone call May 12, 2015 at 11:45 a.m. from a K Designers telemarketer who scheduled a sales appointment with her for the following afternoon.  When I saw the number on her caller ID, I quickly called them, cancelled the appointment and firmly told them we were not interested in their products, did not want any further contact, and that my mother's phone number was on their "Do Not Call" list.  I also mentioned that I had filed a BBB complaint against the company.  The woman apologized and agreed to cancel the appointment and take mother's name off their list.  This seems to be an exact repeat of last year.  They say they'll take you off their list, but they continue calling.

Does this seem like a fair, honest business practice?  Would anyone really be interested in their product/service through harassment?

My mother has dementia and needs protection from these kinds of unscrupulous "wolves".  Is there anything I can do about this company?

I would appreciate any input you might have.

Sincerely,

***** ***********

Richmond, Utah

Business Response: We have no interest in contacting consumers who are on the “Do Not Call List” database.  Unless ***** and her mother identify with all numbers listed for example (work#; cell#: home#) we can only ensure to not call the exact numbers that are in our internal system that is identified as a “Do Not Call”.  We will contact ***** to have her and her mother forward us all numbers that should be listed on the “Do Not Call List” to ensure that they will not be contacted any further.  As soon as we receive all numbers listed we will input it into our internal system immediately.  We will update you with the status by the end of this week

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:
I'm disappointed with the lack of response and total disregard by K-Designers.  They said they would contact me to ensure that my mother's phone number was on their "Do Not Call" list and that she would not be called again.  So far, they have not made that effort.  In their written response to my complaint, the company said they "have no interest in contacting consumers who are on their 'Do Not Call List' database."  After filing last year's complaint, I gave them mother's home phone number and they insisted it would be added to their DNC list.  So why was she called again this year at the same home phone number that was supposedly on that list?   I even contacted the company by email and was told the number would be added, yet they continued to call.  In researching the company online, I found that K-Designers is known for this kind of unscrupulous, illegal activity.  This is their common telemarketing behavior.  Sadly, too many underhanded businesses are getting away with it because there aren't enough government resources to stop them.  It only makes it harder for honest companies to make a fair living.  And it continues to leave our society's most vulnerable members - the elderly - easy targets for these scumbags.

Business Response:

We sent this email to the email address listed by ***** ***********

?Dear *****,

Since our message was sent to the BBB on May 19th we have done the research to find out why your mother was accidentally contacted again. When we put her on our K-Designers internal "Do Not Call List" as we promised you last year. We just found a glitch in our system so we applolgize that we didnt find this and solve it before now.
When we put together a small list to recontact our employee that put together this small list by hand did not compare the list to our internal "Do Not Call List". Had this new employee done their job correctly they would have discovered your mother was actually on our "Do Not Call List" and that is why she hasnt come up on our automated dialing system since you asked us to put her on our "Do Not Call List". If this employee had run the small hand dial list in comparison to our "Do Not Call List" they would have discovered that your mother should not be called. I am very sorry for this to have happened, however it has helped us by going to our IT Department requesting that they write new software so this cannot happen again. The software was completed last Friday May 22nd so this should not happen anymore in the future. Even if an employee creates a small hand dial list the new software will prevent the list from compiling any phone numbers on our internal "Do Not Call List". Please accept my apology for this inconveniece. This should not happen again in the future.  I do hope you understand that it was not our desire to contact your mother again, it was an employee error that caused it to happen. Even though your mother invited us out to see her on an appointment, we really have always intended to honor your desire to not contact her again. I am sending your mother a $200.00
******** gift card to use as she wishes. If you have any questions or need to contact me in the future, my direct line is ************.

We researched together the information from ******* **** our Branch Manager in Portland Branch who is famillar with this customer.  Our customer Mr. ***** had broken window seals on his existing window in addition to many other problems to his approximately 10 year old windows when he asked us to give him and estimate for new windows.  He wanted to get new windows and signed an agreement with us.  We met with him and spoke with him 3 times before our installers arrived with our new custom made windows and he was very coherent each time.  When we arrived to install our new custom made windows his neighbor Mr. ****** stopped our installer from installing the windows.  Our manager ******* **** spoke to Mr. ***** and Mr. ****** and agreed to cancel the agreement and accept $2,782.25 as a cancellation fee.  He paid us that amount and both parties agreed to close this issue.  All of the new windows are in our warhouse in Portland and we are unable to install them in any other home because they were custom made for Mr. *****'s home.  We feel that we have been very fair with Mr. ***** eventhough we could have asked for even more recovery expense.  No one at K-Designers has spoken to the person who filed this complaint, **** ** ****.  If there is any other questions please don't hesitate to let us know.

Complaint: K-Designers sided my house, replaced windows in 2010. My house was damaged due to a hail storm in June 2014, so I contacted K-Designers to for an estimate to replace two sides of my house, screens, and a window. I entered into a sales agreement with them. On the agreement it had a description of the working being done but only one price of $13,337. I paid them when the work was finished and submitted the information to my homeowners insurance. They rejected the sales agreement since there was not a detail list of the prices on it, as well as the sales agreement was much higher price than other contractors. After numerous phones calls to get a detailed listing, K-Designers tells me that they can only give me a lump sum amount. Several conversations also took place between the insurance company and K-Designers. This whole mess has been going on for several months. I had to get a loan for the total amount in order to pay K-Designers. So, without this detailed information, the insurance company is only reimbursing me $1,300. The insurance company refuses to reimburse me anymore money without the details. Since the insurance company considers this item closed, they are out of the equation. I have a life time warranty on my house and have asked K-Designers if they would reimburse me the difference since I feel it falls under the warranty at this point. I was told they could not do that. So, I'm paying for a loan for nothing in return. I have no choice accept to proceed this as a legal matter and I have obtained a lawyer to help recoup the money that I have paid K-Designers. Is there anything that the BBB can help me with? I will also be registering a complaint with ******** ****** as well due to the fact that they think the price is to high so they will not reimburse me for the claim either. I have been a customer of K-Designers for a long time. I have had two of my houses sided with their product.

Desired Settlement: I would like K-Designer's to reimburse me the amount that ******** ****** will not cover. All I'm asking is to reimbursed so I can payoff the loan that I had to take out.I would also like this matter to be cleared up quickly, since it has been dragging on for many months.

Business Response:

We have spoken to Mrs. **** this morning.  We will work with her to resolve this issue with her insurance company and give you the results within 10 days.
Thank you

Complaint: I am filing a complaint against these cowards (K-Designers) after years of receiving phone calls from them in violation of the Federal Do Not Call List. During this time, they have been "spoofing" their phone number so a different number shows up on my Caller ID, that does not identify this company. Based on my online research, I have discovered this company is K-Designers. I have been receiving phone calls from this company for years. Earlier this week, I received several phone calls from ###-###-####, which shows up on m Called ID as "800 Service." After receiving two phone calls from this number, I blocked the phone number, only to receive a phone call from 1###-###-####, so I blocked that number too. As you can see, they intentionally added a "11" to the phone number that I blocked so that their phone call would not be blocked. I have researched this number online and found hundreds of complaints against K-Designers along with just as many complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. Somebody needs to investigate how this company can get away with violating Federal law not to mention the many complaints that have been filed with the Better Business Bureau. I would like to know how the BBB can give this company an A+ rating. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST - I DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE PHONE CALLS FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

Desired Settlement: I want this company to stop calling me!!! My phone number is ###-###-####. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST - I DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE PHONE CALLS FROM THIS COMPANY (OR ANY OTHER COMPANY)!!!! I have no interest in their services. Due to their ongoing violation of Federal Laws (the Do Not Call List) and tactics which includes spoofing their phone number and changing their number so their number that was blocked goes through, I would like to see K-Designers BBB rating.

Business Response: We sent this email to Mr. ******

Complaint: I ***** **** did have a company called K- designers come to put gutters and faciea also soffits. Then much later a door was ordered from this company to replace my old front door. I have never been treated so bad by this company this company advertises that they are a Home Remodeling Leader. The work they did was very unsatisfactory to me was not pleased with the customer service also. I was treated in a very rude manner. The door that was installed has a big gap when the door is closed so all the wind and insects that are outside come through this big gap I did call to complain about it and I never received a call back from this company also when the door was ordered it took so long for them to install it I waited about two months before they got back to me. The gutters also defective they were not installed to where the water would drain from them and so water sits in the middle of them and rots I was not satisfied with nothing they did for me this company needs to have better management also to brush up on the way they relate to their customers. They do not care about the way the work in completed or the way they communicate back to the customer never again will I use this company to do any remodeling for me. I will hire professionals from now on that do care about there work and the it is completed and that the customer is and will be satisfied with the product that the company is selling. Next time I will also be checking with the BBB next time I hire anyone to do work for me. And I will not be hiring this company again!!! Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: No settlement requested - for I would appreciate if this company would not ever rip people off anymore. I feel I was jipped out of my money for the unprofessional job that was done to my home. I'm so disappointed in all areas of this business.

Complaint: K-Designers Marketing Director claimed at the signing of my contract that America's Dream Exterior Premium Vinyl Siding would accomplish the same sound insulation, noise reduction result as would insulating the walls with insulation material. Claimed it would wrap my house tightly and provide the relief from the neighborhood noises I was most concerned to accomplish. Since the vinyl siding and windows installation in March 2014 there has been no significant noise reduction. I am extremely disappointed as I was looking forward to quiet nights to sleep without the buzzing of nearby motors. My original intent was to replace my windows, but it was at the suggestion and assurance of K-Designer's salesman that the vinyl siding would be easier than putting in wall insulation and have the same desired results of sound insulation. Now the same K-D Sales Rep. has told me that he never promised me sound insulation and there is no scientific proof that the product provides it, only that he has heard it said from others, and that there must be something wrong with my house for it to not be working the same way.I feel that K-Designers has misrepresented their vinyl siding product at my expense because I never would have bought the siding if they hadn't told me it would give me sound insulation; I was sold a product based on unsubstantiated qualities, in effect, false advertising.

Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded an amount that equals what it will cost to install insulation where it is found to be effective for sound insulation. It is more difficult to insulate the walls now that the siding is on, so it might have to be directed to the ceiling; I will know more after a review by an expert.

Business Response: We have been in contact with Ms. ********* regarding the concerns described in this complaint. We installed insulation to all outer walls prior to installing the new siding. We have explained that the insulation would reduce the transmission of exterior sounds to the interior of the home. However; we  never stated or implied that the installation of new siding and insulation would elimate audible sounds emanating from outside. At this point it is very difficult to make sound reading since the insulation been installed for over a year. We will contact Ms. ********* to see if there is anything else we can offer to help further reduce the intensity of exterior noise that is audible while inside the home. Regarding a refund- We fully completed this project over a year ago and performed additional work which was no part of our original agreement. The additional work was completed at no added cost to Ms. *********. Ms. ********* also signed a certificate of completion indicating she was completely satisfied with the project. Considering these facts we do not feel a refund is necessary.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:
The installation job at my house was completed on 2/21/2014, not yet a year ago.  I signed off as satisfied on that day as the installation was complete and the financial agreement demanded it.  Negotiation over an interior paneling issue continued in spite of that sign-off, it was resolved months later and it did call for an additional lay-out of my cash to remedy it properly.  The siding installation came with a full year warranty on the product and I had to wait until the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season for the "sound test" where my neighbors put up inflatable decorations that run motors day and night for 6 weeks, buzzing through the walls of my house.  That was when I knew absolutely that the insulation in the siding did not work.  K-Designers admits that they sold the siding to me based on it's sound reduction properties.  Other than anecdotal, where is their proof of the sound reduction properties of their product?  Tri-polymer Injection Foam has a Sound Transmission Coefficient (STC) of 53, a sound reduction value of 70%.  What is the Sound Transmission Coefficient of American Dream Premium Vinyl Siding?  During the sales pitch, the salesmen were very excited to offer me a solution to my problem with the neighbor's noisy motors and other noises from barking dogs and leaf blowers.  It was only because of their enthusiastic assurances that I would be happy with the sound reduction that I went ahead and bought the vinyl siding for my house.

Business Response: We are in the process of making an appointment to meet with the homeowner to evaluate the project and property to identify potential solutions to the sound transmission concerns. We will provide additional details after we have met with the homeowner and evaluated the property.

Consumer Response: Customer states: The company has reached out to me and will try to work on a resolution. I will call back if they do not follow through or resolve my concerns.

Consumer Response: Consumer states: I have been working with the company but we are unable to reach an agreement despite our efforts. I will pursue other avenues.

Complaint: I feel I have been scammed by K-Designers. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income. My home was in disrepair and needed new siding and windows.K-Designers was able to get two contracts that I could afford to cover all the windows and half of the siding on the house. Two weeks after all the decisions were made and the contracts signed another man from K-Designers came to my house unexpectedly and said they'd found extra materials and could put siding on my detached garage. It really didn't need to be done but since they had extra materials I agreed to let them do it. When the man finished measuring he had me sign a paper. He did not explain that it was a third contract and the cost of the garage would be $7500.00 at an interest rate of 19.99%. He seemed to be in a hurry. I found out what that paper was for when the payments came due. I was shocked to learn what had happened. I cannot afford this payment (which is $120.00 for the first six months and then $160.00 when the interest rate kicks in) and will lose my house because of it. It forces me to file bancruptcy and walk away from my home. They knew I could not afford more yet they duped me. On saturday February 14th I received a letter from GreenSky financial demanding that I bring this account current in the next seven days. Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund K-Designers needs to refund the money and cancel this debt like they said they would when we discussed it in person January 27th,2015 at their office. I was told it would take 2 to 4 weeks to get it done but they assured me it would be handled and I didn't have to lose any more sleep over it. But apparently they lied.

Consumer Response: K-Designers made no attempt to solicit funds for Building Youth Around the World.

Their use of the non-profit is simply to circumvent Federal law regarding unsolicited telephone calls.
That's unethical.
While I appreciate the removal of my name, what about the millions of others in the same situation?
The response is unsatisfactory, without a promise to change the marketing practice.

Complaint: I contacted K-Designers on 12/30/2014. I received a return call from ****** in their customer service department on 1/5/15. I let him know that some doors that they installed back in July were leaking and that I would like to have someone contact me to schedule a time to look at the doors. Advised that I had photo's showing the leak and sent him photo's. As of today 1/26/15 I have not heard from anyone at K-Designers to schedule a time to look at the doors. In addition to this I asked for warranty information and paperwork on some windows that they installed in 2012. As of 1/26/15 I have not received any paperwork. There are a couple of windows that are drafty and let cold air into my home and they need to be looked.

Desired Settlement: Inspect the doors, and windows and have a discussion about the best course of action (repair or replace). Without an inspection it is difficult to determine if this would fall under the workmanship or materials warranty.

Business Response: We went out to the customer's house on January 28th to inspect the issues with the French Doors. The customer lives in a very high wind area surrounded by open fields, which is the problem. We have some weather stipping on order and once it comes in we will put it on the doors and see how it pans out. We will keep you updated once the weather stripping is put on the doors.

Complaint: I am the daughter and POA for ********** * ****, Eureka, CA, who I believe is being harassed by K-Designers of Gold River, CA. Last week she received two phone calls and an in person visit to her door to discuss replacement of windows despite the fact that I have personally informed this company in writing that she does not want any more contact with them. In August 2014 this same thing happened prompting me to send an email to the company requesting that they put my mother's phone number on their DO NOT CALL list. I specifically requested that she not be contacted either by phone or in person. I requested they confirm receipt of my request by emailing me back which they did but then on Jan. 24, 2015 it happens again. My mother is elderly, easily confused and was very distressed that this situation was happening again. The other complaint I have is that the two salesmen I had contact with (one in August 2014 and one in January 2015) were using the same name on their business card (*** ***********, Marketing Director) but were definitely not the same person. Is this legal? It is certainly deceiving. Thank you, ******* ******

Desired Settlement: I want this company to immediately cease contacting my mother by phone, mail and in person visits. I also would like this complaint to be posted on the BBB website as I am sure there are others out there who are experiencing the same problems.

Business Response: We went out to the customer's house on January 28th to inspect the issues with the French Doors. The customer lives in a very high wind area surrounded by open fields, which is the problem. Complaint: Unsolicited call. I interrupted the sales spiel and when I mentioned that a reputable business does not have to violate the federal do not call registry, he said: "You didn't let me finish, we are calling on behalf of charity XYZ". This is obviously a scam to allow them to place unsolicited calls violating the registry. K-Designers needs to stop this business. They prominently display an "A+" BBB accreditation on their website. They certainly do NOT deserve this rating. Reputable businesses do not behave this way.

Desired Settlement: K Designers displays the BBB Accredited Business logo on their home page. They knowingly violate the Do Not Call registry, which is a bad business practice. Either they need to stop calling people on the DNC registry, or they should lose their BBB accreditation.

Business Response: We have placed this customer on our Do Not Call list and our Call Center manager is also sending him an email.

Complaint: I
purchased 7 windows from K Designers of Billings Montana in November of 2013.
The windows were installed on November 22 2013 at address ***** **** **** ******* *******. The sales amount was $11,187.98

In
February of 2014 the windows began to show signs of leakage. The windows had a
3 inch ice build up along the bottom and in the corners. Photographs were taken
of the ice build up.

*****
and I both phoned their office with this compliant several times. ***** ********
was spoken to about this issue by phone. ***** stated he was in a meeting and
would phone us back after his meeting, He never did. Furthermore, ***** stopped
by K Designers store in Billings and spoke with a receptionist about the issue.
The receptionist stated she would notify the proper people and that someone
would contact her back. Once again no one contacted us back.

It’s
been a year of trying to resolve the issue with them and It is obvious K Designers
does not have any intentions of resolving our complaint. K Designers has proven
quite fickle and has shown no attempt in resolving this matter after being
contacted by us several times. We do not know what to do and feel we have been
taken advantage of. Is there way that your agency can assist us? We would
sincerely appreciate it. Thank you.

Desired Settlement: Please see complaint.

Business Response: A few new windows were on order but the customer didn't know that, but they know that now and seem to be happy when we talked to them on Wednesday January 14,2015.  The new windows should be installed by 1/28/2015 or before. We will inform you once the instal has been completed and the customer is 100% satisfied

Complaint: In 2008 I had a sales person come to my door saying I was specially selected for there promotional/advertisement house for vinyl siding and windows. Being in the Air Force I agreed to have them replace my aluminum windows. I was hesitant at first and the sales person assured me that there is a lifetime and a half warranty and I will never have to worry about them again. By accident, two of the windows became broken in May of 2014. I called K-designers in early June to get the windows fixed. After several unanswered calls I finally reached the National HQ and the operator gave me ***** ******* ####-###-#### on or around 8-15-2014. When I called him he was upset that she had given me his number then I explained the situation to him and he asked for the sizes of the windows broken. I called him back with the measurements of the broken windows. He then said he would call to schedule an appointment. And that was the last contact I had for months. We called several times a month leaving messages and texting *****. Then about a week ago a thief broke into our home by shattering a 3rd window and to top it off it is winter here. So for a week straight both my wife and I called the customer service line everyday only getting a voice mail which we left messages that went unanswered. Finally yesterday we reached a person in California named **** ***. And then ******* called us back with the number for Colorado. It wasn't until there was a threat of a complaint on BBB that they returned any of our calls. Now they want us to pay them $150 to come measure our windows and then wait a month for them to arrive and then pay an additional $67/ hour to install the windows. We paid over $7,000 for 7 windows. And have tried getting these fixed for 6 months. Their treatment/customer services is disgusting and I would never recommend them to anybody! I have never seen a company dodge a customer the way they have. It is completely disrespectful!

Desired Settlement: I would like it if the company actually treated their customers as people and not just a sale. They were all about us when we were buying the windows, but as soon as the sale was done, the company's customer service just disappeared. I do not think it is right that I should pay them to fix windows that they out right avoided fixing for 6 MONTHS!

Business Response: We are going to the customers house tomorrow to inspect the broken windows and take measurements so we can order the new glass. We are not charging the $150.00 inspection fee. And will advise once the glass comes in and is installed.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because: the Windows are not replaced yet. A man named Roger came out and measured the window. We were told that they will order the windows and then they will come out to install them. They did not charge the $150 inspection fee. It is our understanding that when they come back to install the Windows we will pay the $67 / hour labor fee.

Business Response: The windows are on order, we should receive them this week or next. Because of the holidays manufacturers are delayed on our orders. The soonest we can take care of the windows we will do so.

Complaint: I ordered a patio door at the end of August, door was set to be installed in September was rescheduled due to installer having a family emergency, door came in October was 3 inches to small so i refused. Here it is the middle of December installer was supposed to come on the 6th and install door, but nothing no phone call to cancel. If you call there office no one answers. In the meantime they have a hold on my credit card, not to mention but they pulled my credit twice to do this because i didn't have there wells fargo card. training issue in billing/finance. Not to mention but i have figured out that 3,000 is a lot of money for a door since i found a nice one with blinds in it for 1800.00. Just think that the public should be aware of businesses that don't follow thru-with contracts.

Desired Settlement: release my credit card and cancel contract unless you do it for less.

Business Response: We did have to re-order the door as it was too small. The new door came in at the beginning of November. We scheduled an appointment to do the instal and the customer cancelled the day before the instal. We have been calling her since and she will not return our phone calls. We called her and emailed her yesterday, again with no response. If you can get in contact with her and have her call us back, we would love to do the instal.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:I called to cancel a week before due to a family emergency in another state. Nobody answered business phone so I sent corporate an email and someone finally called me a day before. Extremely unprofessional company. I have no messages on my phone from them, if they are calling my office phone I'm never there.

Business Response: I have attached a signed completion certificate signed by our customer. All issues have been addressed. We are still waiting for their screen door to come in. The estimated delivery date of the screen door is December 23, 2014. Once the screen door has been installed we will inform you of the completion.

Complaint: We engaged with company to install 4 new windows and remodel our bathroom. It took them two months to install the windows. At that time they would start on our bathroom. It took them about a month to start on the bathroom. When they came out to start they were always leaving to do something else. Finally they settled down to do the bathroom and removed all the factures in the bathroom to get started and than the boss called the workers and told them they would have to go to Kansas to start a another job or something. My husband is a truck driver over the road. He returned home on Sunday Dec. 1, 2014. They were to call him on Monday Dec. 2, 2014 to start working on the bathroom again. Nobody called. We called the business last night. The boss had all kinds of excuses why nobody was doing anything about the bathroom work. The bathroom is totally unuseable. I think they should do the work they where contracted to do. this is very poor business and unacceptable.

Desired Settlement: They do the work they were contractored for and they do it in 3wks like they said or we get another contractor and they pay the bill for it. They are not a very good company and their workers are very unreliable.

Business Response:

We have an installer at their house right now working on the bathroom.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:  The business did send a man out to work on the bathroom.  When he came my husband had to go with the worker to pick up parts for the bathroom.  Than when they came back the worker worked for 3 hours.  He than told my husband that he had to go get something else and would be right back.  When I returned home from work at 4:30pm the worker was still not back at our house.  He returned later at about 6:30pm put his tools away and left.  He told my husband he would be back at 9:00a.m. this morning Dec. 05, 2014 and he could not get what he had left to go get because the companys credit card was not working.  I think we need to talk to a lawyer.

Business Response: We have almost finished the bathroom instal. There is a special order vanity that we are waiting on and the project will be completed. The customer expressed to us that she is satisfied with the work that was done. We will keep you informed once the vanity comes in and is installed.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because: The company would not approve the vanity we picked out.  It had to be ordered from the company and it would take about two - three weeks.  They did not want to order that vanity and they said it would cost to much.  So there is no vanity on order.  I said I approved of the workers job not how the company has handled the whole job.

Business Response: The vanity is on order, and we are waiting for it to come in. Once it has been installed we will inform the BBB of the completion of the project as well as send the pictures of the completed bathroom so there is no more confusion.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:  We will wait to see what happens with the vanity to finish up the job.  They sent the worker out on another project.  If they take another three weeks to a month to finish up I will get a lawyer to take care of this problem.

He informed her that he would send some one to our home tonight at 8:30 p.m. and we could expect a nice surprise when that person arrived. Once again she told him "no" again he informed her he needed a certain number of people to say "Yes" or he would get "fired" then continued to argue that someone would be coming to our home. Again he was told no. This call lasted almost 30 minutes and he was insistent that someone would be coming to give us an estimate. The only reason the call lasted so long was this person had our address and stated someone would be at our home soon to give us the estimate and surprise. The practices and tactics we endured tonight are the most aggressive and pushy I have ever heard. I attempted to call this company at the number on their web site and after many attempts only received a message to leave my info and they would call me back. I did respond to the online contact info and am awaiting a response. The first icon on there website is their A+ BBB rating. This is a definite mistake if their sales people use these tactics.

Desired Settlement: Stop these practices and reprimand the employee. This person scared my wife and family by insisting someone is coming to our home after numerous requests that we did not want there services. There is no call for this type of sales tactic. Also the employee's job security or pressure to be terminated is not a valid reason to use their services. I would also like the company to remove my number and address for their system and agree to never contact me again after the situation is resolved.

Business Response: This persons phone number was added to our "Do Not Call" list

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because: Simply removing me is a good step but this business did not make any type of explanation or apology for the action. They sent me an email with only the subject message " I will put you on k-designers do not call list?" This is tells me about the company's view on people and a very poor way to resolve the situation. I feel the behavior will continue and there was no attempt to protect future customers. An apology and explanation goes a long way to resolve these situations. I would like the contact information for owner or someone who can give serious explanation.

Complaint: UNABLE to get a response from the company regarding an issue with water leaking from the frame surrounding the new window in the master bedroom. @ Sept. 28th of this year a couple of rain storms in the Magna area, my new windows of 4 years (installed @10-14-2010)began leaking in the Master bedroom. It is an area that K Design had contracted to fix. My contact was for $10,496.00 for 5 windows, 1 patio door, one storm, One Entry door. I have paid all but $1.057.00 on the contract. I have called several times and have only spoken to the receptionist ******, she said she would have ***** their main installer get a hold of me. He has not. The only calls I have had from K-Design are people soliciting work for Windows to be installed I have told both people that have called my problem, They said they would turn in a complaint to the company and someone would be calling me. Again no one has. This was @ 10-14-14 in the evening and again 10-18-14 during the day. I have been told by several companies that I overpaid for the windows. I like the windows they have really made a difference in the heating and cooling of my place. I am fearful of the damage that the water is doing to the drywall in the bedroom and mold that may be growing. I do not know if you can help me but I appreciate anything you can do. Purchase date for the Windows was 9-30-2010, My account number is **** **** **** ****, Sales Rep was **** ******* $10,496.00, payment is $175.00 per month (I have been paying $200.oo per month to pay it off as soon as possible.) Again my balance as of last month was $1,057.00.

Desired Settlement: I want the problem fixed as promised per the contract.

Business Response: Business states that they are currently in contact with the consumer and the issues are being addressed.

Consumer Response:
Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. NO, IT IS NOT RESOLVED. I have had one of their people come out and look at the problem.  He said it was a problem before they installed the windows,  Yes it was and in the contract I signed they have it written that they will fix the problem when they installed the new windows.  Now, the problem may be a J-Channel that is in the area where the window was installed.  I have had a roofer come out and look at the roof and the siding and he asked if the siding was mangled close to the roof above the window before the windows were installed?   I told him according to the pictures taken before the windows were installed the siding above the window and below the roof was not open to the weather the way it is now.   This window is a 2nd story window. No one has been at the 2nd story.

Business Response: We inspected the project and can see that the leakage, which the customer understands, is not coming from the window, but something above the window. The leak is coming from either the roof edge flashing or the the damaged metal siding above the window. This home has no overhangs at the roof edge and the window is 12 inches from the roof. We are going to stop by today to give her an estimate on siding the home, since we do not know where the leak is, and could be on the inside of the wall, and also suggested she get a roofer out to assess the roof to see if that is the problem.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because: My contract for $10,000.00 said K-Design would fix the problem, K-DESIGN saw what was going on, ***** came out right after the window had been installed because it had started to leak.  ***** said the installer had not caulked the areas correctly.  Now I have all this new damage.  Why didn't they tell me it was a roof problem and I would have fixed it before they put in the new windows, the new frame is all discolored and the frame at the top is sagging and leaking.

Business Response: We are meeting with the customer on Friday 10am with another contractor to address where the leak is coming from.

Consumer Response:
Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. We are going to meet on Friday to decide what has taken place at the house at 10:00 A.M.

Complaint: Have made numerous to contact chris in warranty department with no returned calls. Broken window hardware and broken storm door not being repaired. have called and left messages with Warranty department, with no returned calls and when i do actually reach someone on my weekly call they say they are busy moving. Called to have storm door adjusted to close properly had to pay to have someone come out but i guess its not covered under warranty, they adjusted but still didn't close properly wind caught the storm door and shattered glass, contacted kdesigners and they referred me to manufacturer website to file claim which i did but haven't heard from manufacturer or kdesigners in months. on top of this storm door issue i have a front window that the glass has separated from plastic outer lining they have come to meassure but no ETA on completion or even call back about whats the status on the window. literally having to call weekly to leave a message and never get call back. absolutely ridiculous, worst customer service i have ever experienced and warranty is a complete joke. i wont be satisfied until all issues are completed, there are other problems that should be covered under warranty that i have yet to even address because i know no one will ever actually take care of them.

Desired Settlement: I would like all my warranty issues resolved but i feel i will run into these same issues with any future warranty work. best option would be to cut ties completely with this company and want a 100% refund so i can pay a qualified company to make necessary repairs and offer a legitimate warranty that doesn't require the buyer to go through all these issues to get anything fixed.

Business Response: We communicated with **** last week and his four areas of concern are as
follows:

1.
Front window -  glass
& trim issues
2.
Storm door -  glass
breakage; handle/hardware faded; not closing properly

3.
Garage door – panels
damaged due to customer negligence
4.
French patio door –
scratches on glass due to customer’s dog

We’ve informed the
customer that we will service item # 1 and replace item # 2 with a new storm
door.  Both will be completed by end of week.
As for items 3 & 4,
we’ve informed the customer that these would be chargeable services that would
not fall under warranty coverage.  As a result he has opted to not have it
addressed through K-Designers.

We will also provide
the customer with copies of his warranties for all applicable products
installed.  We explained to him that the labor warranty through K-Designers is
for 1 year only he was led to believe by his MD that labor for all products is
lifetime.  We further explained that the lifetime limited warranty is applicable
to material only.

Overall he was
satisfied with our response in addressing the four areas of concern.  Although
he was not happy with the accurate explanation to his warranty coverage, he now
understands what is covered and what’s not.

Complaint: K-Designers guarantees their windows. After they installed my windows, I called on 13 Aug 2014 the local office number (**************)to complain about the windows. I was told that a ticket would be submitted. On 09 Sep 2014, I follow-up on my call since no one had replied. At that time, I spoke with Jason who asked me to call Headquarters and make this report to ****** (* ************* *** ****). On this date I left ****** a message. Upon finally reaching ****** at the beginning of Oct, I was told that a ticket would be issued and that, given the short lapse in time, that K-Designers would address the problem right away. They have never responded. The windows are scratched and have distorted glass.

Desired Settlement: I would like the windows replaced.

Business Response: On rare occurrences the glass will come in with scratches that are not noticed until after the installation. We will check to see if we have ordered new glass to replace the glass, if not we will do so right away, it takes about 10 days to receive the glass from the manufacturer. But we will replace them to the customers satisfaction and notify you as soon as it is completed. Should be within approximately 2 weeks. We will also notify the customer right away.

Complaint: My mom had a stroke the beginning of march & had just got our of nursing home for rehab when saleman stoped at her hous. She did need some work done. So they talked about replacing 2 windows & a shower stall. She told her it would cost her about 70 dollars a month. She said ok. He filled out all the paper work on sales agreement and the loan ap and she signed it. She thought it read $4,000.00 dollars but was $14,900.00. When they came to replace the 2 windows talked her into replacing 2 more windows at a cost of $3,800.00. As I said if she hadn't been on so much medicine at the time she would have been able to understand what was going. I called K Designers and asked for an invoice they said that the sales agreement was all they give out. The only way we got that was when called the police and they talked to Ks and they sent us the sales agreement. As I said my mom is 84 years old, she had a stroke was taking strong medicine for pain & had only been home about a week. When the salesman talked to her he must have thought hat an easy mark.

Desired Settlement: We feel $19,000 for 4 windows & shower stall is outrageous. Should have gotten a invoice on pricing and besides sales agreement was to be given to my mom before work ever started, wasn't given to her till after work was done and then only when the police called and asked for something in writing.

Business Response: We will be contacting ******* ***** on Monday 11/10/2014 and will let you know the outcome of the conversation by Friday 11/14/2014.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:As I told them the paper work does not add up ,as some of it was not given to my mother, and work was not done.still does not make sence how they opened up loans in my moms name. ***** kind of went over things with us but it still does not make sence. I think we still need to talk about the amount  because  its still unfair. Even when ***** was there I think he could see the affects from my moms stroke and see why they could get away with what they did.

Business Response: We had a meeting scheduled for 11/20, which the customer said they could not make. We have been trying to re-schedule this appointment with no luck. ******* ***** has been home, but her son **** ***** is MIA. He will not return our calls, and ******* keeps telling us that she doesn't know where he is. We will keep trying.

Complaint: Advertising cold calls to a business phone. Web searches reveal that this business is a *frequent* offender in violation of the National Do-Not-Call list, which they apparently don't pay any attention thereto. ************************************************** lists 5 pages of complaints about this business' cold calling practices, with no satisfactory resolutions.

Desired Settlement: Respect the National DNC list, and *use* it. Don't make unsolicited sales phone calls or other phone spam.

Business Response: Company states: We will need the customer's phone number to add them to the "do not call list".

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:

They're violators of the National DNC list and they know it.

The previously mentioned list in my complaint of people receiving unsolicited calls from their autodialers have clearly established their lack of ethics.

Calling ** ***** phone numbers indicates usage of autodialers, a sleazy telemarketing practice.

Complaint: When removing the sash to clean it, the frame of the window literally fell apart in my hands causing the window to fall onto my foot. I was moving it roughly one foot - from the window to the floor. When I called K Designers, I was initially told this would covered by the lifetime warranty and someone would call to set up an appointment to have one of their people come out and assess the issues. No call. No appointment. I called back and was told the first person told me bad information and a different person would call within a week. No call within 2 weeks. I called again and was not able to get through to a live person. I left several messages over the course of a week, calling almost daily. No return call. I finally started pressing every button I could and got through to someone who assured me customer service would call me back within a couple of hours. It took him 3 days. When I finally had customer service on the phone, he told me the closest person they had was in Draper, Utah and I would have to pay for the assessment of the window as well as for the serviceman's travel to and from Idaho. After explaining exactly what happened, I asked if this was something covered by their warranty or not. He was not able to answer, but said I could pay the hundreds of dollars to have someone from Draper come look at it and see. I asked a time frame for how long it would take to replace if it was covered under warranty. he was unable to answer. Their help was worthless and in the end, my husband and I didn't have hundreds of dollars to waste on an assessment. Winter is coming and if the windows are guaranteed, it'd be nice if they were actually guaranteed to be replaced when the frame around the sash breaks when touched.

Desired Settlement: I want a new sash for my window. A replacement of the broken one. Free of charge, naturally, as should be the case with a guaranteed/warrantied window.

Business Response: We're reviewed the specifics involved in this project and discovered the following:
1. ***** *********** purchased the property at **** ******** **** ***** *****, from one of our previous customers. Mr and Mrs *********.

2. The *********'s purchased windows from K-Designers Approximately 13 years ago in August 2001.

3. A window package that included a lifetime limited warranty, that included a prevision to transfer some of the terms of the warranty to the new owner if the original purchaser sold their home AND completed a written request to transfer certain terms of the warranty for a fee

4. Regardless of any potential warranty transfer, the glass breakage of the warranty applies only to non tempered glass that becomes broken while in the frame rather than dropping a sash that has been removed from the frame.

5. K-Designers previously offered to supply replacement glass or glass plus delivery plus installation at a reduced rate.

6. Although this event clearly falls outside of the warranty (that may or may not be in effect) K-Designers will provide replacement glass for this loss, only as a goodwill gesture for customer satisfaction. Any future warranty claims will require the customer follows the terms of their written warranty by contacting the manufacturer.

Thank You,
K-Designers

Complaint: I purchased a double-slider window from K-Designers which they installed in February 2013. After opening the window earlier this year (2014) I could not get it to lock. Since the window is under warranty I called K-Designers in the Denver office April 2nd and ****** said she would give the message to **** and ******. Since I never heard back, I called again and was told I would need to call back early to talk to ****** about the problem. I first talked to him about it May 5, 2014. I told him I was concerned about it because of security with it not locking. He said he understood, thought it would be an easy fix, and indicated he would soon be contacting me to get it fixed. It has been 6 months since my first call and I've made several since but all I get is promises. He did call once in mid July when I wasn't home and left a message which I returned as soon as I got it, but evidently no one was in the area by that time. I paid $1,377 for the window plus another $100 up front and I expected they would stand behind their warranty, but I can't get anyone to come fix the locks on this window.

Desired Settlement: I either want this window fixed soon so it will lock and I won't have to be worried about security problems, or else I want my purchase price refunded so I can go buy a window that will suit my purposes.

Business Response:

Our Branch office made contact with homeowner today.  Our office will call the homeowner back on Monday, October 6 to set a date and time for appointment.  We will follow up with BBB as soons as the date and time has been set.

Thanks you.

Complaint: In 2007, K-Designers **** * *** ***** ********* ** *****, ************************, came to our home, **** and ***** *******, 3** * **** ***** ******** ** *****, to present and estimate custom-made windows to us. The saleslady presented ** ***** **** for the first credited amount of $4,500, but this did not cover the estimated price of $5,000, so when the saleslady presented *************'s approval of my application for $5,000, I accepted. Within 3 days I was going to cancel because 5 windows at $1,000 each was too high after discussing it with my wife. Then the saleslady dropped by again with an extra added incentive to increase the windows to 8, add a glass storm door, and soffits all the way around the house all for $5,000 and I signed in agreement.Within 3 months after almost completing the project, (because they only installed 7 windows and the 8th window was re-ordered but never arrived or installed, and the gutters and downspouts were not replaced after being removed to install the new soffits), ** ***** **** billed us for $4,500, which increased over the next 12 months to $10,000 and ************* followed in the same manner. The harassing phone calls did not stop, our credit was ruined because they had slandered us, and we could not pay for the windows, even if they had been all installed, because we were not approved for a home equity line of credit due to our slandered credit. The project was never completed, ** ***** **** never produced a contract or receipt, and K-Designers benefitted from being paid for an incomplete project by both creditors, the declined creditor ** ***** **** and the approved creditor *************. K-Designer misrepresented to them that there were two projects, which in reality there was one contract with ************* for $5,000 no pmt/int 365 days after completion of the project to our satisfaction--8 windows, 1 glass storm door, and soffits all the way around our home, which was never completed.

Desired Settlement: We would like our credit restored by removing all the slanderous reporting made by ** ***** **** or *************, and K-Designers to install the 8th window, replace our gutters and downspouts which are nearly hanging off of our house and ruining our cedar siding and foundation, and to reimburse us for our long-suffering and patience with their harassment of us with phone calls, threats, collections and lawsuits over the past 7 years.

Business Response:

According to our records this is the first contact we have received from the ******** regarding any concerns.   Our branch Manager, ***** left a voice message on September 9 and made contact with the *******'s today, September 15 and scheduled an inspection for Wednesday, September 17 at 4:00 pm.

We will follow up with the BBB after the appointment with the outcome and  the best way to resolve the customer concerns.

Thank you.

Consumer Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

  • The response is inaccurate because we have contacted KDesigners since they created this problem over 7 years ago.
  • KDesigners is taking responsibility for the incomplete project now after this complaint with the BBB-California.
  • KDesigners' representative ***** ******** said he does not have anything to do with the financing of it.
  • KDesigners' original manager claimed that there were two projects, which we would not have qualified for.
  • If we accept KDesigners' offer to complete the project and remediate the mold, we still are not happy,
  • because KDesigners mishandled the financing of the original contract by accepting $4,500 payment from ****
  • now d/b/a ********* ****, a creditor that we declined before **** accepted the full amount offered from *************.
  • KDesigners' representative ***** said that they will not give the money back so that we can renew the contract with them.

**** now d/b/a ********* **** and ************* paid them $10,000 before completion of the project worth only $5,500; and then began within 90 days to accelerate the charges to us, although **** had agreed to *************'s terms of 365 days/same as cash/no interest or late fees now totaling over $30,000, which has been posted to both of our credit bureau ratings, slandering our credit in the process.  We could not obtain a ***** account with **** because our credit was ruined, even if the project had been completed to our satisfaction.  They are taking advantage of a disabled man's good nature and now will do nothing about it, but complete the project, remediate the damage to our home, and not restore our credit so that they could right this wrong they have left with us to fix, by not informing **** now d/b/a ********* **** of their clients' declination of their $4,500 offer, because we did not have money to pitch in and make it $5,500 or by not informing ************* of the original 365 day terms their clients' agreed to.

If they are not in the business of helping clients obtain financing on terms that the clients can live with, they should only take cash-paying customers.

If they are willing to renew the completion of the contracted project of 8 windows, a storm door, soffits and remediation caused by the incomplete project, they should renew all of the terms of the agreement with the financing company **** accepted and begin the 365 days all over again.  But ***** refused, and forces us to deal with the credit bureaus.

If they want to restore our very poor credit, they would have to make an attempt to settle with both the declined and accepted financing companies by first returning the money they were wrongfully paid by both companies, get these derogatory claims removed from our credit bureau files claiming $30,000 is 7 years past due, and then wait the 365 days to see if we can obtain financing for the original amount of the contract of $5,500 on our own with no help from them at all, instead of wrongfully taking $10,000 and forcing us to pay it back within 90 days.

Business Response:

Our two agreements with Mr. & Mrs. ******* clearly show that only (7) windows were contracted for in 2007.  One agreement was for (4) windows and some other remodeling. and the other was for (3) windows and more remodeling.  On Wednesday, September 24th (last week) we spoke with Mrs. ******* and we agreed with her that we would install another window for her now at no charge to help resolve their concerns.  We will be ordering the new custom window this week.  It will be made and delivered to us approximately October 15th.  We should have all the work promised to the *******s completed by the end of October.

We will notify the BBB as soon as we are completed to the *******'s satisfaction.

Complaint: I had windows and a patio door installed last year and the patio door was never sealed properly. I had water enter my basement twice over the spring time. Has someone come out to inspect it. They returned and sealed the patio door area and said their installer would return to fix. The installer never came and the company said he did and were going to schedule a time for the installed to repaint the basement ceiling to fix the stains. This has been going on since the end of April and no one ever calls back to schedule a time to fix the issues I still have.

Desired Settlement: I need the patio door flashing to be removed and more structure to be added so when someone steps on the large flashing it doesn't break the caulk. I need the door resealed and the basement ceiling repainted.

Complaint: on the 8th of august 2014 i signed a contract for 3 windows that was supposed to be installed on the 15th of the month and completed on the 30th of august. Last week I called the 27th to find out what was going on. The man (i didn't write down his name) (my fault) told me that they would be installed that Friday ,labor day weekend type friday and would be done sat. I said ok and told him that I hadn't had any communication since the 8th of August. I stayed home all weekend to make sure I was here. I called up today the 2nd of september and cancelled the whole contract. The man started to cuss at me and said I couldn't and would be billed anyway or put a lien against my home it was my choice. The cost of the windows and gas and time for the salesman. A company spokesman for the company showed a lack of customer service not to mention the gross language. I want him out of there. I don't want any thing to do with the company or the products and I want the contract voided.

Desired Settlement: I simply want the contract voided with no strings attached

Complaint: K-Designers vinyl siding did not save us any money on the utilities bills. "BENEFIT AT ALL" Called several times for them to come out about a whole the left in the inside of our house they said that wasn't due to their work. The vinyl siding is falling apart and its creepy. People get scared when he push our door bell because the wall sinks in. They lied about special discounts.

Desired Settlement: I would like them to remove this crap off my house and put stucco or paint.

Business Response: K-Designers spoke to Mrs. Smith on Tuesday, June 10th.  She called us in 2010 with a need of a service call.  We explained to her in 2010 that the product is warranteed for life, but the labor (installation) was for 1 year (which, is a state requirement).  We explained to her that we have a small inspection fee to go out and look at their home.  She refused to agree to the service inspection fee and decided not to go ahead.

The original installation was in 2008.  She did not call us since 2010.  Now we get the complaint from the Better Business Bureau.  When we contacted her on Tuesday, June 10th, we again explained the small inspection fee because the 1 year labor warranty was at 2 years in 2010 and now is 6 years since the installation.  She used bad language and hung up on our service technician.

We will call her on Friday, June 13th to arrange the inspection and waive the fee.   We will let you know when we have resolved this complaint.  It will probably be 10 days to 2 weeks because we have to send a service technician from Sacramento to Rialto, Ca near Los Angeles.

Complaint: We received a call from K Designers and I have to say it was the most rude and unprofessional sales call I've ever received. When she first started telling me the reason why she called, I politely told her we're not interested and thanked her for her call. She ignored what I said and continued with her sales pitch. I repeated twice, she ignored again and again. I reminded her our no. is on the Do Not Call Registry and her response, 'well, we are registered with the state attorney office'. I again told her that I am not interested, and she responded, 'So I'll go ahead and put you down for 4pm next Saturday.' Imagine my frustration at that point. I questioned, 'are you not listening to me?' and she said, 'I think you should stick with this appointment because it's good for you.' Oh my god! By then I was furious and had to finally hang up. How can this company have a A+ rating while they are harassing people like this? It's ridiculous. I think the management encourages such behavior because other people have had similar experience and clearly it's still continuing. K Designers - Shame on you.

Desired Settlement: Apology from the management for the rude and unprofessional behavior of their sales rep., disciplinary action against her, fix their sales dept., and a promise to not call me or other people that are registered on Do Not Call.

Complaint: K Designers installed windows an patio doors in two of our homes, the installation of this was very bad. have made many attempts to get them to fix this. as their is a implied warranty. The feeling is they got your money an their done with you. No communication. if their is its never the same person, if they really care they should be contacting us the customer. the way I see it, our business is them.

Desired Settlement: replace one sliding patio door. reset all the windows for they were not set right for their is interior damage that needs repaired. the windows were not sealed on the outside or insulation put in, or they pay for a contractor that we get to fix this. an give new windows an doors if they can not be reset or repaired.

Business Response: After reviewing Mr. *******'s concerns and speaking with him it was determined that we would order a new patio door and install, re-set the problem windows and re-trim the bay window.

We will let the BBB know when this is completed and to Mr. *******s satisfaction.

Thank you.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because: with what has happened with this company as far as communication their is know follow threw. lots of talk. their installations are not real professional. got to wonder about that group out of Billings.

Business Response: Our Branch Manager, **** ***** spoke with him yesterday, again… and he seemed very satisfied with the plan to replace the patio door and install, and re-install the problem windows, and re-trim the windows at no cost.  **** let Mr. ******* know that the patio door had to be ordered, and we would get back to him on Monday, May 19 to give him a date when the door would arrive (should be within 2 weeks) and schedule the install and address his problems with the windows.

Additional Notes

Complaint: This company does not follow the National Do Not Call registry, and repeatedly cold-calls people. I have received three calls from them in the last two days despite having never had any interactions with this company. The calls come from 800-728-3902, which is their phone number listed on their home page: http://www.k-designers.com/home.asp (top-right corner under "Call Today").When I did a Google search for the phone number, I found that many other people have the same complaint, namely that this company has called them unsolicited despite them being on the DNC registry. Some reports mention that the representatives have been rude and openly acknowledged they are not following the DNC registry. This sort of sales tactic is not appropriate, nor is it a good business practice.

Desired Settlement: K Designers displays the BBB Accredited Business logo on their home page. They knowingly violate the Do Not Call registry, which is a bad business practice. Either they need to stop calling people on the DNC registry, or they should lose their BBB accreditation.

Complaint: One day we received a phone call asking if we needed a window repair, and I said yes. She said well we have a salesman in your area can we make an appointment for you? So I said yes.
So *** ****** arrived and started to talk with us. He led us to believe that he worked through Costco who has a very good reputation. Because of this I believed him and trusted him. I also gave him my Wells Fargo Credit card and in so doing he told me to go to the customer service desk to get an updated Costco card, and they did not know him or know  what kind of card we needed, and $100 charge came through our credit card bill.
At the end of  appointment we signed for  3 windows and a shower in the amount of $17,882.03. This amount was turned over to Sky collection agency. We paid in full.
*** ****** assured us that we would receive points (2700-2800) to be used  on our house repairs through them. We have not received the points as of 1-26-14.
The window installers, were good, but should have left on our windows papers explaining what kind of window they are. We know this because we went to Home Depot to order four more windows like the one put in by installer.
Also the installer for the shower did a wonderful job.

Desired Settlement: ***Please See Attached Documents***
We hope that this pushy-type of salesman can be stopped from taking advantage of elderly people anymore. We would like to receive the promised points of  (2700-2800) to be used  on our house repairs through them.

Business Response:

Dear BBB:

The customer is satisfied with work done.  We installed a sink & faucet for them, and are sending them a dividend certificate to use towards future purchases.

Thank you.

Consumer Response: The company stated "Customer is satisfied with work done" and "We are sending them a dividend certificate to use towards future purchases". Which we don't understand the letter with it said that it had to be used by Jan 2013. We received the letter in Feb 2014, We have to call about all of this. The workers were hard workers. The salesman was a pusher and a little untrue or misleading.

Business Response:

Mr. *********** was called by our Branch Manager in Portland.   We are sending Mr. *********** a new Dividend Certificate, and he seemed to understand, and was okay with that.

Thank you.

Additional Notes

Complaint: Starting in September of 2013, I have been attempting to get K-Designers in Omaha to come out and repair a caulking issue I have with my tub system they installed in 2012. Shortly after (within 60 days after the install) I noticed the caulking was separating between the tub and the wall surround. They came out and placed a larger bead of caulk between the tub and surround. By September of 2013, this caulk began to show signs of mildew and mold, which I was unable to clean. All of the other caulk joints in the tub area showed no signs of this mold/mildew which made be believe the product they used in the first fix was inferior. For the last 4+ months I have contacted not only the Omaha office a minimum of 3 times, but also their corporate office a minimum of 3 times to get someone out to fix this problem. The times I had spoken on the phone with the corporate office, they promised to get someone out and waive the "fee" (even though I started addressing this within the warranty period), to no avail. This complaint is my next step in addressing this and getting K-Designers to own up to the issue and do what is needed to fix this problem.

Desired Settlement: I want K-Designer to come out and replace the caulk between the tub and the surround, at no cost to me, with the appropriate manufacturer's recommended caulking material that is provided by the manufacturer of the acrylic surround and tub. I want this completed within the next 30 days with no more broken promises or excuses.

Business Response: We have made an appointment with the homeowner for Friday, March 7th, and will let the BBB know the outcome as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Business Response: We went to homeowners today, and re-caulked again.  The homeowner requested that we come back in 10 days, then will sign off on the completion.

Consumer Response:  The business failed to contact me with a follow up as promised and I was unaware of the automatic closure of the original complaint. They had promised to contact me within 10 days of the repair and failed to do so. I had also asked a specific question regarding care of the product that was not responded to.1. They need to follow up with me in regards to proper product care. This was not done.2. Explain as to why there was no follow up conversation as promised.

Business Response:

The work was completed on March 26, 2014.  They replaced the silicone around the tub liner the week of the 10th.  Went back on March 26, and customer signed off on completion service/repair order.

Thank you.

Complaint: These windows leak air around them worse than the old window did. When the wind is blowing at 45 miles per hour or higher, they whistle louder then a train with sqrueelling brakes. We (my son Jerry) and I have complained a number times to the local office in Omaha, Nebraska. They say they will be out, but they never show up or keep their promise of checking and fixing the problem. We feel they are taking us for a ride and trully care less now that they have been paid. We have been scammed by K-Designers and I believe more people should be made aware of their foney customer service.

Desired Settlement: Fix the leaky air around the windows or refund me 1/2 the cost of the windows and installation cost.

Business Response: Our installers went to the ******* home on Monday, March 17.  We discovered that 3 windows were not closed all the way, and gave instruction on how to close them to the customers satisfaction.  We let the homeowner know that we would follow up with them in 10-days to see if everything is working properly.

Complaint: Not correctly installed, cold air coming thru, also not sealed with caulk on inside the window. They did replace two windows finally that took 5 months. The guy that came to put the two windows in said they were not properly insulated around the inside of the window under the trim, which was causing them to leek cold air. They have been contacted by myself on several occasions and have excuses on why they can't come to properly install them.

Desired Settlement: I would like at least half of what I paid back since they won't fix properly.

Business Response: Dear BBB:

We have an appointment on Friday, March 7th, and are planning to blow-in foam around the windows.

Thank you.

Business Response:

We tried last week to contact her last week but haven’t been successful yet to set an appointment.  We will keep trying.  When we make do make contact hopefully today ortomorrow, we would like to set the appointment for Wednesday, March 12.

Complaint: This company keeps calling me at all hours of the day & night, waking me up. I have chronic health issues & desperately need my rest. Each time i try to tell them that we are on the National "Do-Not-Call" list, then they promptly reply with a rather scripted response that, "They are allowed to call whomever they choose since the US Attorney General's Office is fully aware of who they are. AND...because they are considered a CHARITY organization" (Huh?) So, i politely ask them to please remove me from their list & NEVER call me again. However, they not only keep giving me more excuses as to WHY they are legally allowed to keep calling me, but they persist in calling me anyway! Their website has them listed as an "A+" BBB member site. If you do a quick web search of their phone number you will see that they are spam-calling everyone, and asking for private information. PLEASE help to do something about this company. ###-###-#### is the phone number that keeps harassing me.

Desired Settlement: Please either banish them from the BBB (Have them remove it from their site since they do NOT uphold your standards), and if at all possible...please forward to the proper authorities for the DO-NOT-CALL registry, or whomever else can assist with SPAM calling.

Consumer Response: I am rejecting this response because:

First of all, this supposed apology letter is simply filled with excuses & "Additional attempts at advertising themselves to me" - which i find highly insulting.  Rather than simply apologizing & leaving it at that, they are still trying to sell themselves, their product, and their ideologies to me. Why on Earth would a company claiming to sell "Home Remodeling" also try so hard to push the point that they are a registered third party solicitor for a charity organization? That would be like me going to McDonald's and instead of ordering a hamburger...i buy a car for someone in a third world country. Again, they have nothing to do with each other in a business sense...so why try to hide behind a disguise? It is VERY missleading & it is the primary reason that "EVERYONE" in the online forums are complaining about this company....not just me!  These people need to be stopped. Spamming is illegal, no? Well, according to the federal government,,,when i signed up for the DO NOT CALL Registry; they said that so long as i notify the telemarketer that i am on this list...they "Have to remove it with no questions asked."  Yet, they continued to call me even after i told them. The ONLY reason they sent this fake apology letter is becuase they don't want to get in trouble with the BBB. These people will not stop.

Don't believe me...do a quick online Google search with their phone number & see just how many people take the time to write a negative review or comment about them. Now imagine how many thousands of people that DO NOT take the time...they simply "Let it slide."

Is THIS what the BBB allows when placing their stamp of approval on a "Certified" business?  If they wish to sell siding or remodeling...then so be it.  But how dare they hide behind the ruse of a charity organization. Why can't they simply state that up front?  Why....because they are deceiving people.  Enough is enough!  When does this stop?

Sincerely,

******* ********

Business Response: Dear ******* ********:

Many consumers are unaware that the laws in many states (including California), allow for charities and those who are registered with the state on behalf of a registered charity, may contact everyone.  When an individual contacted on behalf of a charity requests to be put on that charity's Do Not Call list, then the individual is to be placed on both the charity's and co-venture company's internal Do Not Call list.  You have been placed on our Do Not Call list as ****** ****** explained in his response to you.

We apologize for any misunderstanding you may have had through this process.  You should not be receiving any more calls from us on the phone number that we have placed on our Internal Do Not Call list.  We will be sending you a gift card to have lunch on us for any inconvenience you may have felt.  If you have any other questions, my contact information is the following:

Complaint: We purchased new windows in February 2013, windows were not properly installed. Wind blows in around them and Frost and ice form inside the windows. Windows were purchased Feb. 2013 for $12,928.77. The windows were financed through Green Sky financing, done by K Designers. Sales rep *** ******. Made promises of lower heat and cooling bills. HE said they would do studies of our heating bills to see the savings. As far as I know that was never done. The windows arrived 5-6 weeks later. They were installede in 2 days. HAlf way through the 1st day one of the installers injured himself and had to go to the hospital to be treated. This put them behind schedual and in a rush. I came home at noon the second day and they were finished, loaded up to go with one of them waiting for me to inspect the work. There was not much time, I felt rushed and signed off. and they left. As was arrainged the inside trim was left off so I could put new trim on. As I was working on every window I found spaces around them that had not been insulated and you could feel wind blowing in. I got foam insulation myself and did them. When It started getting cold in December all the windows started forming condensation along the bottoms of the windows inside of the house. When you hold your hand along the bottoms of the windows by the trim you can feel cold air commimg in. These are sliding windows and were they meet with the stationary part of the window you can feel cold air. This was supposed to be one of the selling points of the windows was how well they seal. Further inspection outside found they did not chaulk around the molding they took off and reinstalled or around the aluminum they wrapped it with. When installing the windows they purchased boards at a local lumber yard for the sills and said it was not what they needed but would make it work. I feel the way the sills were installed is one of the biggest problems with the installation. Insulation can not be properly installed to make them sealed right. My wife contacted someone from K Designers Omaha office the begining of December and told them of the problems, they said a work order request would be sent. It never came, she contacted Ken at the Omaha office, who siad one would be sent and also tried to tell her that moisture was normal. As of December 23rd we still had not been contacted about some one coming to inspect the windows. That morning there was frost on the the trim around several windows and ice in the tracks of others. I have pictures of this. I called the Omaha office and talked to *** ****** the salesman who sold us the windows and told him the problems we were having. He assured me a serviceman would call that day to talk to us about setting an appointment to come out. As of today no one has called. If you call their office during off hours you can't leave a message. These windows have not lived up the the promises that were made. They keep making promises to send some one to fix the problem and have not done this.

Desired Settlement: What we want done is to have these windows properly installed and insulated. The only way I feel this could be properly done is for them to be removed and reinstalled correctly. When I talked to *** ****** on Dec. 23rd 2013 he said he wished we would have contacted him sooner. He said this was not the way they do business. He said they would make this right even if it meant putting in new windows. I want them to live up to their promises and make this right. we spent alot of money on these windows and so far they are a dissapointment.

Business Response: K-Designers met with homeowner at their home on January 3rd and discovered the necessary corrections to be made, and the homeowner has agreed to let us know by Wednesday, January 8th the best day for us to schedule a return to do the work. We will let the BBB know as soon as it is scheduled.
Thank you.

Consumer Response: I am happy with their response and coming to check the windows, but the work has not been done yet. I have contacted them to tell them when they could come and do the work and have not heard back yet. I want to be sure this is properly taken care of before I sign off on it.

Business Response: Our production crew finished up on the consumers home last night (January 15) and they signed off on our satisfied completion form.

Consumer Response:
Complaint:

I am rejecting this response because: As far as the work that was done on the outside of the house, we are satisfied with it. The contractor did very good work. He was courteous and professional. He stopped the wind that was coming in around the windows. we are still having issues with condensation on the glass where the windows seal. In some places with blinds the condensation is very heavy. One of the major selling points of these windows was supposed to be how well they sealed. We feel they are not performing as we were told they would and will be talking to K Designers about this. I have attached a picture of one of the windows (taken 01/19/14) showing the condensation that forms overnight when the blind is pulled down. The temperature was 19 degrees that night. When it gets colder the condensation is heavier.

Sincerely,

***** ****

Consumer Response: (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is a business that is partnering with a legitimate charity to shield themselves from having to comply with the Do Not Call List at the Federal and State level. If it is not illegal, it is certainly unethical.
They should abandon this practice. If one looks at the internet, there are a lot of sites talking about the BUSINESS-related robo calls this business is placing, hiding behind their charitable sponsorship to justify it.
In fairness, they DID remove me from their call list, but I want them to comply with the Do Not Call List. These folks are rated A + by BBB and I would say their actions make that rating by the BBB highly questionable, and I would hope you would look at that.

Complaint: The company called my phone, which is on the DO NOT CALL list and left rude comments about my last name. The sales rep apparently wasn't smart enough to realize he was talking to an answering machine till he was over half way through his spiel and asking for a response. He must of thought he hung up but did not and then went on to make rude comments about my last name of ******* saying he would get a name change because no one was going to call him Mr. *** anything. I called the local office and was told it would be looked into but did not really get a satisfactory response from their so called Marketing Director.

Desired Settlement: A letter of apology for the rude comments left on my home answering machine by their ill trained, disrespectful employee. I also think that if they are a reputable business they would not be cold calling numbers on the Do Not Call list.

Complaint: Having problems with repairs being completed and poor installation practices Have had a lot of problems with K-Designers since 1995 when siding was installed. Siding is wavy and warped, wires to our doorbell were cut and was not repaired. The window screens caulked shut. In May we had issues with warping--an agent came, said someone would fix the problem--never did. After returning service & repair agreement in May 2013, we are still waiting to get repairs done. In July an appointment was made with a **** ***** to get issued settled and he never showed up. We are still waiting to get this siding repaired.

Desired Settlement: For the repairs to get done

Business Response: Initial Business Response
We are going to the customers home on Thursday, November 14, and will report back to BBB when completed. Thank you.

Final Consumer Response
The original siding was installed in 1995, however, new siding had to be installed in November of 2011, because of warping, and also they did not carry the same color of our siding any longer. As I mentioned in my previous rebuttal, I provided k-Designers with pictures of insulation where it showed black mold. I believe that this could cause severe health issues. It was also installed incorrectly. The siding was fastened with screws preventing it from expanding and contracting properly. The siding does not line up from one wall to the other. Many other issues need to be resolved. I am very disappointed with K-Designers and will not recommend them to anyone. I have asked *****, (field supervisor from Denver, Co) to come and inspect the work, and is scheduled to come on December 10, 2013. ****** ********

Final Business Response
We've completed all the repairs on the ******** home. The original project was done in 1995. 18 years have since past and we have no legal responsibility to provide any repairs to the homeowner. However, in the interest of customer relations, we provided the service to resolve the BBB complaint. The homeowner still has concerns about the future longevity of the work performed. K-Designers remains confident that the areas serviced have met industry standards. In addition, we firmly believe we have acted in good faith to resolve the homeowners concerns. Should any material defects occur in the future, we will defer the homeowner to the manufacturer.

Complaint: Company engages in repeated, unsolicited phone calls. When informed that I am on the national DNC list calls increased to 3 times per day. I have never had any dealings with this business, nor authorized any other business or entitly to give my personal information to them. My land line has been on the national Do Not Call registry since it's inception. My phone number is unpublished. I screen all incoming calls to my land line. Approximately 10 weeks ago I began getting calls from 800-728-3902 listed as k-designs at a rate of once a week. The frequency of calls increased gradually until four days ago it reached once per day. Brief online research see http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-728-3902 or http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/XXXXXXXXXX showed that this has been a common practice for this business for more than 3 years. Two days ago I informed them by phone that I am on the DNC list and demanded that they cease calling me. Yesterday the calls Increased to 3 times per day. I have filed a complaint with DoNotCall.gov and registered their number on my phone company's blocking service. Due to the egregious and chronic nature of their phone sales practices I feel that something needs to be done. M *****

Desired Settlement: k-designs should cease unsolicited calls to myself and all others on the National DNC list as well as those who request cessation of calls in person.

Complaint: K Designers installed new windows and blinds in my 84 year old Mother's home in *** ****** ** . The bid was given in May, the work was started in June and completed in August. We asked the company to provide her with an itemization of window cost, blind cost, labor and travel cost. On behalf of my mother, I started making the request for the itemized statement in late August. I made weekly calls throughout September with the promise that I would receive the statement. I visited with the Production Manager ***, the installer *****, and the boss ****. All promised they would send the requested invoice. Nothing has arrived after repeated calls. The amount my mother was charged was $7831.10. I do not think the request for the cost break down is out of line. I noted on your BBB site that this company had over 90 complaints with only 30 of them satisfied.Your assistance with this complaint would be greatly appreciated. Product_Or_Service: Window and Blind installation Account_Number: XXXXXXXXXX

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation) DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation) We want the company to be listed with yet another complaint, and our only request is the itemized statement of cost and service.

Dear BBB I called MS. ******** this morning to explain to her that the itemized statement was mailed to her mother's physical address on November 8th. It was returned back to us on November 29th as undeliverable. After speaking with her, I assured her that we would mail out a copy this morning to her address. She also requested that we send a copy to her mothers PO Box address. I gave her my direct line here if she has any questions, to please call me. Complaint: In Dec of 09 I bought windows & storm door. I started having problems (door) in Sept. of 10. After numerous calls they came out in Dec of 12. Didn't have what they needed to fix the storm door with them, said they would be back. I have been calling at least once a week since then. Twice they set dates to come out and didn't show. Over the past few months they changed to a service charge if they come out. I refused to pay because that wasn't in effect when the problem started. Now they say the warranty is off and there's nothing they can do for me. They strung me along all this time for nothing. Some of the calls I made to them they was just plain rude.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Fix it or new door. At this time the door doesn't even latch. Please get to the bottom this. I don't like getting jacked around the way they did me.

Business Response: Initial Business Response
We have no legal obligation to continue to perform service work, at no charge, on Ms. *****'s storm door. However, in the interest of customer relations, we are prepared to install a new storm door at no charge. Ms. ***** runs a day care facility and the storm door gets considerable abuse. The warranty has long since expired and we have performed several service calls on the storm door in the past at no charge. We will be having Ms. ***** sign an acknowledgement that in the event there are any more issues with the storm door in the future, she will be responsible for the applicable service charge and/or replacement cost.

Final Consumer Response
Dear Sirs, K-Designers put a new storm door on, so the problem is resolved.

Complaint: K Designers ruthlessly called my home - day and night - often with a hang-up. K Designers - a home remodeling company located in Mississppi - and a location in ********** MN continually called my home. Day and night the calls would come in often with a hang up. Final Consumer Response
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) K Designer's call center did not identify themselves as a charitable organization. They identified themselves as a home remodeler which does not exclude themselves from the DNC registry. If this company is concealing themselves under the guise of a charity in order to promote their actual business then more investigation needs to be done. I find it strangely amusing that their call center informed me that it could take up to 30 days to have my telephone number removed from their call list. Yet Mr. ******, under pressure, informs me that it has now been paced on their internal Do Not Call list. How many other consumers have to endure the constant calling because they didn't know where to turn? There are actual internet chat rooms that exist just to discuss the non-stop calling from this company. I accept K Designer's resolution. However, something still smells with this company.

Complaint: Received unsolicited mail from K-Designers regarding an "Official Federal Assistance Program: KD 13" that was dishonest. Received unsolicited mail from K-Designers regarding an "Official Federal Assistance Program: KD 13" that specifically designed and worded to hide the true business. K-Designers solicited home and/or work phone numbers from homeowners to request information about "government assistance programs" available to help pay for energy efficient upgrades. In reality they are contracts selling windows, doors, insulation and installation. The envelope and insert look and are worded in a way that can be easily confused with an actual government agency. I have never requested information from K-Designers or this supposed "Energy Efficiency Center" located in Rancho Cordova, CA as I'm not a homeowner. Pictures of envelope and insert can be provided if requested.

Desired Settlement: I wish to be taken off their solicitation list and to never be contacted by K-Designers or any of their affiliates again.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have felt by receiving our mailing. We have placed your name and phone number on our internal "Do Not Contact" list. The Federal Assistance Program flier that we sent to your home was not meant to confuse or mislead our customers. There are several government assistance programs available for homeowners to take advantage of and that can help homeowners remodel and upgrade their home to make their home more energy efficient. We are simply giving homeowners the opportunity to learn about and take advantage of these opportunities. We again apologize for the inconvenience that you felt you may have received and have taken actions to see that you are not contacted again unless you initiate the contact.
