Your complaint will be forwarded to the business within two business days. The business will be asked to respond within 14 days, and if a response is not received, a second request will be made. You will be notified of the business's response when we receive it (or notified that we received no response). Complaints are usually closed within 30 business days.

On July 12, 2012, Wells Fargo Bank entered into a Consent Order with the United States Department of Justice.  The Order settles allegations that the business engaged in a practice or pattern of discrimination against qualified African-American and Hispanic borrowers in its mortgage lending from 2004 through 2009.  Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to provide $125 million in compensation for wholesale borrowers who were steered into subprime mortgages or who mpaid higher fees and rates than other borrowers.  Wells Fargo will also provide $50 million in direct down payment assistance to borrowers in communities around the country where there were large numbers of discrimination victims.  Wells Fargo will also provide compensation to borrowers who were plpaced in subprime loans when borrowers of similar qualifications were placed in prime loans.  The order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.  For more details go tohttp://www.justice.gov/iso/opa/resources/14201271211384881962.pdf
