    December 2021, my daughter ************************* purchased a 2017 **** Explorer from VA Cars of Mechanicsville. It was co-signed by my husband *********************. Didnt know until my daughter went on to DMV to get new tags that were expiring at the end of September 2022, that the dealership had never registered her plates. I talked to a couple of consumer lawyers and they said they could be made to buy the vehicle back since they failed to register the vehicle within 90 days? Come to find out they the plates on the Explorer were registered to the Fusion they sold to her 3 months prior that was a lemon. We have since learned that VA Cars in Mechanicsville was shut down due to embezzlement, and we cant figure out where her $2500 down payment went. We contacted VA Cars of Midlothian and they want to just put new plates on the vehicle and wont work with us on buying the vehicle back. At this point we have lost trust in them doing anything they are supposed to do. VA Cars also had no paper copy of any of my daughters paperwork/contract, except for the copies that my daughter gave to them.

    KF My son purchased a 2017 GMC Terrain from VA Cars at the West Broad St location. The seller told him the vehicle needed work performed on the vehicle before he could take possession. The work took 3 weeks. The seller showed the paperwork on the vehicle to my son, husband, and me. The work cost approximately $2000 and was done at the service department in Chesterfield. While there on October 31, 2022, we noticed the inspection had not been done. Our son signed the paperwork on that day, but the vehicle was returned to Chesterfield for the inspection. He took possession of the vehicle on November 6, 2022. On December 27, 2022 the engine expired. My son had not paid his first payment. We called VA Cars to take the vehicle back and was told no. We called again to ask for help was told nothing they could do. We had the vehicle towed to ************************* on West Broad Street. In the meantime, we sent an email to the seller for help and left v-mails with no response. The mechanic determined the problem and the engine had to be replaced. ************************* had the vehicle for 3 weeks. The cost was $9,932.40 which I had to pay by credit card. I mailed a letter and copy of the ************************* report to VA CARS at North Chesterfield with no response. I left a v-mail for the General Manager on April 3, to let him know I was filing a complaint with DMV and immediately received a call from *****************, Comp TrolIer for VA Cars 3 weeks ago. I've called her 3 times to find out what VA Cars was going to do and have had no response from her. I want VA Cars to reimburse me. If this dosen't happen, I will be getting an attorney.
