Complaint: On November 6, 2015, I atranged to have a technician from Walls Electrical Service come over and provide a free estimate, but instead I was just charged $340 for troubleshooting that lasted no more than 30 minutes (the problem ended being a tripped GFCI switch). At no point in time was it ever clear when the estimate portion ended and service for troubleshoot began; what took place was completely dishonest and unethical. I'm also not sure how it possible to provide an estimate without telling the customer what the cost will be upfront, this should be considered criminal. In addition, any service provider who charges an amount that so far beyond that of industry accepted rates should not be able to be able to do business.

Desired Settlement: To be charged the company's normal hourly rate for the work which took place.

Complaint: Walls scheduled service for me on two occasions and failed to show at the scheduled time twice.

Desired Settlement: Walls correct their customer service to perform as promised.

Business Response: BBB spoke with ******* from the company and she stated that the first appointment, they called the consumer and explained that they would need to reschedule. The appointment was rescheduled and ******* stated that the consumer called to reschedule that appointment due to a meeting. The third appointment, ******* said the tech was running late and she called the consumer to tell them and offered a discount and she was told to forget about it.

Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The problem was communication.  The company's reasons for failure to perform on time are valid, but the customer needs to be notified in a timely manner and not have to initiate the notification well after the promised appointment.
