Curtis Media Group is serving as the promotional sponsor for the BBB of Eastern NC’s “Secure Your ID” Day event on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The local shredding and electronics recycling event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Coastal Federal Credit Union (1000 St. Albans Drive in Raleigh) and Executive Office Suites of Lafayette Village (8480 Honeycutt Road).
Five stations, WPTF, Funny 570,Radio 96.1, QDR, Pulse 102 and LaLey will be promoting the event to their listeners. WPTF will also feature a live interview with Toby Barfield, president and CEO, BBB of Eastern North Carolina.
“Identity protection is more important than ever,” says Trip Savery, executive vice president, Curtis Media Group. “I am glad we have the opportunity to partner with BBB in providing our listeners with a safe and free way to dispose of sensitive documents and old electronic devices.”
During the event, local shredding partners PROSHRED® Security and A Shred Ahead®will provide free, on-site document shredding. Participants are encouraged to bring up to three boxes or bags of sensitive documents that have been removed from binders. GEEP will also be on hand to provide electronics recycling including computers, tablets, and cell phones, as well as electrical devices like TVs, microwaves and vacuums.
