Back in the month of September 2022, I had my car towed to Autohaus Import to have a timing belt and possibly other repairs that were quoted to me from past services with this repair shop. I received a text message on September 14 with pricing for timing belt replacement and other services that *** be needed to restore my vehicle back to operation. Price, to replace timing belt was $435, possible engine replacement $3572, and heater core replacement $1401. I received a couple of calls and text from *************************** stating that there was a hold up on getting parts for my car. I said, okay. Do whatever is priority to get the car back running, which was the timing belt. But at the same time, I was getting what if and ***be it could be something else wrong. I told them to at least put the timing belt on. Jump 3 months later to December, I guess they finally came up with some of the parts. I received another phone call and text from Autohaus stating do I want to proceed with the timing belt replacement. I told *************************** yes. Again, she said that the car probably or it will be better to get a new engine. I told her to do whatever they could outside of ordering a new engine. Ms. ****** suggested that I should have a new engine placed in the car. She also said it would be used with no warranty. And they would need a $2000 deposit. I told her at the time I had $1500 to give them now and $500 more the following week. She said no, I needed it all at once. I told her to give me two to three days to think about it and I would get back to her. As usual, our communication went into a phone tag mode. That was the end of that conversation. After contemplating on the engine replacement, I decided not to spend money on that service. December 23, I received more text and missed calls from Ms. ****** regarding the status of my car. From December 23 until now Ms. ****** and my conversation became phone tag and then no conversation. At that point I started showing up to the repair shop to talk to Ms. ******* I made every attempt to contact her in person. She was never available or didn't want to talk to me. On 7 February I again went in person to find out the status of my car and pick my vehicle up. I was told by Mr. ** that they had just towed my vehicle away. I watched Mr. ** write a message on a sticky note for Ms. ****** to call me. He placed it on her desk and said *****, I'll make sure she calls you tomorrow. 8 Feb, I went by the shop again looking for my car and to talk to Ms. ******* She did not call me and was not available. Again, Mr. ** gave me a business card to call the owner, ********************** I called him and left a message. He has not returned my call. Before I left the repair shop, I told Mr. ** could they please have my car available for pickup next time I return. I also told him I would pay for all repairs they performed and then I left. When I got back home and looked in my mailbox, I discovered a letter dated January 27th from the ** **** of ************** stating my vehicle was towed to ********** Co *********************************************************************** ******************************* and her organization took it upon themselves to have my car impounded without notifying me. As a result, I have incurred storage and towing charges in excess over $1100. I will pick up my car from the impound on 10 Feb. However, I want a refund in the amount of the towing and storage charges. I'm willing to pay for only services performed on my vehicle. Thanks for your cooperation to this matter.
