Local BBB Torch Awards

Do you know a company worthy of the BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics?

The Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania established an annual awards program to gain public recognition for local businesses that maintain a solid commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical fashion. The “BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics” will be awarded to up to four businesses who display an outstanding commitment to marketplace ethics at the end of each year.  Nominate a company today!

Each year, up to four companies – one extra small (1-10 employees), one small (11-99), one mid-size (100-999 employees), and one large (1,000 and more employees) are eligible to be honored with a BBB Torch Award. This unique awards program was created to promote the importance of ethical business practices and to recognize the willingness and effort made by outstanding businesses to assure that our country’s marketplace remains fair and honorable for all.

The Torch Awards are designed to:

  • Recognize a business for its commitment to maintaining a culture which consistently sets exceptionally high standards of behavior in buyer and seller relationships;
  • Illuminate the importance of corporate conscience and responsibility in fulfilling a company’s obligation to the marketplace to do what is right and fair; and,
  • Demonstrate to the business community that adhering to Better Business Bureau ethical standards is the hallmark of successful, competitive companies.

The BBB Torch Awards program is open to all for-profit companies (members and non-members) who are located in the Western Pennsylvania 28 county service area from Centre County and west to the Ohio state border and who meet the Guidelines and Rules.
