Date of service 2/5 My dog is 14 & when I started using grooming services at the Dog Stop (Deerfield franchise) I asked specifically for a groomer good with older dogs. She matched me with someone and said they don't let older dogs sit in cages long. My dog got such a bad haircut it was remarkable. Issues were: -we asked his ears not be cut at all since last time we asked the same; she cut them anyway. Then she cut them anyway. They are so obviously different lengths people ask about it when they see him -they left a giant clump of hair on his chin maybe 4” long that we had to cut ourselves when we got home. It looked like he had a noodle coming out of his chin! I don’t know how someone wouldn’t have been able to notice that. -was cut very short around his backside and we noticed a cut that had clearly bled - we were not informed of this & just found it at home. If a dog is cut and bleeds transparency is a fair request The owner called me and gaslit me completely, making it seem as my expectations were too high. I don't know what customer would be ok with any of these things. She admitted no fault & thanked me for my feedback and told me I would be happier with a new groomer. Not long after, my dog's eyes became red and gummy. We booked an emergency vet appt & Our vet took one look at him and asked if he had been to a groomer recently. I confirmed that he had, & has not been anywhere else since then, and she said he most definitely got conjunctivitis at the groomer from either debris, his own hair falling into his eyes when cut or shampoo getting in his eyes. She also said her vet tech trimmed his nails because they were quite long, & not what you’d expect to see from a dog recently groomed . After numerous attempts she refunded the groom. The vet appointment cost just under $200 including medicine. I sent the bill and asked she cover this expense since it was caused by them. She didn't even bother to reply! Want this bill paid for also.
