Additional Notes

Complaint: S&T cashed a check 2 days before the date listed on the check, thus causing my checking account to go into overdraft status. This resulted in the account being overdrawn until it was eventually closed by the bank and they automatically took the balance out of my joint account with no notice, no communication, they just went in there and took it and said nothing or sent me anything about it to this day. I had spoken to 2 different individuals prior to it closing, and I had indicated to the first representative to go a head (at that time) and take the balance owed from the joint account and close the checking that was overdrawn. I was under the assumption it was closed until about a week later when another individual called me and said it was still overdrawn, still being charged $10 per day for being overdrawn, and that they could not take the money from the account and that I needed to do that myself or have a bank employee at the branch level do it for a fee. However, a few days later S&T closed this account and DID take the money from the account without letting me know about it. I believe the bank wanted to keep this account open to collect the $10 per day fee until the very last day they could, and then take the money...which they told me they couldn't do but now they magically can!

Desired Settlement: I do want a refund. Had they NOT cashed this check prior to the date listed (which is why they have a date line on the checks themselves), this wouldn't have gotten to be a hundreds of dollars problem that it is! They were rude to me when they spoke to me, and treated me like a number, not a customer and offered no explanation as to why they cashed a check before they should have. They told me 2 different stories which lead me to believe one thing happened, but in reality it hadn't.

Business Response:

S&T Bank is in receipt of the above referenced complaint.

The Gramm-Leach Bliley Act and FDIC I 2 CFR Park 332-Privacy of Consumer Information states that the Bank is not authorized to disclose any nonpublic personal information about a consumer to a nonaffiliated third party unless we have provided the consumer a reasonable opportunity to opt out of the disclosure

Sincerely,

Additional Notes

Complaint: On the 12th of December 2013 I, **** ** ******, attempted to close my checking account, but was unsuccessful. ***** then claimed my mortgage interest rate and principal amount would both increase, and there could even been a service termination fee of $350.00. At the end of our thirty minute conversation, ***** attempted to have me sign a loan modification paper (for a rate and principle increase). I went to close my checking account, which did not happen, and the bank representative attempted to hoodwink me into a loan modification.

Desired Settlement: Proper training for your employees, the employees representing your company should be educated on the products and services they sell and maintain.
