Complaint: Gave them personal property ( 2012 Tax Year return from another tax preparer who happened to be Jewish), which my tax preparer, **** ********, specifically asked for so he could review what was done on my taxes last year. When I went to pick up my prepared taxes by him and his staff, and got home, I realized that they did not give last years' back to me. I called him, and he said, "I don't remember you giving them to me". They put me on hold, then returned to the phone saying, "I'm sorry, but I don't have them here". I have since had a 2nd accountant look them over. He had asked for my home purchase statement from HUD which I gave to Adams & Associates so they could see what I paid for my home. THAT ALSO, was not in the 2013 prepared tax folder. The initial meeting with Mr. ******** created a concern, for he asked me to go to Fidelity Investments regarding some IRA withdrawal information he did not understand. I went to Fidelity, a reputable company, and they said, QUOTE: "You should ask him where he got his license. Maybe you should get another tax preparer".I do not recommend nor trust this company and you need to flag and make a note of this company.Sincerely,***** ****
Desired Settlement: I would like a small monetary amount refunded to me for the loss of my 2012 tax return and for their lack of professionalism, and cost it would incur me to get another copy.
To whom it may concern,
My preparer **** ******** informed me
when Ms. **** left Adams & Associates; he gave her all of her documents. He also informed me
that Ms. **** called him and asked where some of her papers were. **** informed me that he
gave them all back to her. It is company policy that all papers are to be returned to the client. We
do not keep any paper work of the clients. Perhaps Ms. **** misplaced them in her residence and
thought **** kept them.
Ms. **** expressed a concern that **** asked her to contact Fidelity regarding an IRA
withdraw. This is a completely unfounded complaint. A preparer may need some clarification
regarding a client’s withdraw; but it seems Fidelity was playing pass the buck and blaming the
preparer for Fidelity ineptitude.
It seems this client has a vendetta against **** and is trying to file any kind of complaint she
can against him. As far as I am concerned all complaints have been unfounded. Therefor I will
not refund any money to her.
BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
