BBB Warns Against Fake "Moving Calls" to Businesses
July 09, 2013

Local businesses report receiving fraudulent telephone calls from individuals posing as BBB employees. The callers allegedly ask businesses if they are planning to move and for personal information. Although BBB does keep updated information on businesses headquartered in Greater Arizona, it does not call and ask about moving plans.

BBB urges any business that receives this "are you planning to move" call to withhold any personal information and simply hang up the phone. For businesses who already provided information to these callers, BBB encourages monitoring financial information and consider placing fraud alerts on credit accounts.

Details on these fraudulent calls being made to local Arizona businesses may be sent to investigations@arizonabbb.org.
