I totally agree with all the negative reviews. I have had coverage since we purchased this house about 4 years ago and a one year policy was included in our purchase. I can see why they chose one guard as it had to be the cheapest and they have sure proved that.I have used it for one or two times a year for hvac checks and minor problems and each time I was underwhelmed and shocked by the low quality of the contractors . The last on was a leak in our water line as it entered the house .. Two very young kids arrived in a beat up old truck, no signage and tools and they did a shoddy job on repairing the concrete surface that had to jackhammer to get to the leak. . It was if One Guard called the local day job center and picked up the cheapest available help. I have also asked for certain companies to be used but it is always "we don't work with them" or we send the best we have available No Way Their work has mostly been on my 2 heat pump systems and each time it was a fixed this fixed that report / In working with a professional company this week they said "your systems are falling apart and they look like it's always been a" slap on some duct tape and leave job."The new contractor showed me pictures of consistent leaks of freon and oil which had never been addressed before. I am cancelling my warrant immediately I have new 2 and 5 ton systems being installed THIS TUESDAY by my new contractor just 3 days after they realized my system was a lost cause.Ironically just today in the mail I received a renewal bill for one guard and it has a premium increase of 67%// YES 67% not a typo!!I am also calling the real estate agent who added the warranty to my purchase to let her know it is a worthless policy in my opinion /OneGuard Home Warranties Response

This is company is a complete mess, They have cheap and Rogue contractors, I regret going back to this company after a long time.They didn't cover my water heater, which was still under warranty, so i save One guard more then $1000, all they have to do was to Swap the water heater, they sent a contractor, who wanted $400 plus to do the job, not sure why i had to pay that amount. I got it done one my own for $325.I called in for my heat, they sent a new person who didn't know much, then they wanted to have a 2nd look a week letter, mean while there was not heat for 15 days, they came back and put some Freon, but it is still not heating properly, it is taking about 10 to 12 hours to go up 2 or 3 Degree, which has never happened in AZ, lived here 22 years, they didn't check properly, but they won't cover it again.Then i call for a recall with in 30 days, they won't cover saying the unit was not maintained, so it won't be covered, I called a week ago and i was supposed to receive a call from a Manager, but nothing yet.My **** stay away from this company, they don't keep up their contract.MIOneGuard Home Warranties Response

A terrible service that I wish I hadn't gotten. We recently canceled our service with OneGuard after 7 years of settling for mediocre service. They send mediocre contractors that seem to do everything in their power not to make any repairs that will cause OneGuard to pay above your service fee. For instance, plumbers patched and repatched my kitchen sink and dishwasher as opposed to replacing them; it took over a month to repair my dishwasher after work order was filed. The exterminators spot treated as opposed to totally treating my property. OneGuard denied the repair of my stove by stating that the malfunction was normal wear and tear after I complained to them that the contractor was more concerned with placing blame on the malfunction than diagnosing and repairing the problem.OneGuard Home Warranties Response

I think there needs to be a negative stars option for this company. We had a Home Warranty which expired and we decided not to renew. The service, that we only used once, was terrible. Now that we don't want to renew, we are literally being harrassed by OneGuard. I have told them verbally and through email, several times, to not contact us anymore. I have been the most rude I have ever been in my life hoping that they will understand how thoroughly agitated I am with their inability to accept we will not renew. This has been two months of constant phone calls, sometimes back-to-back with the exact same messages left less than 1 minute apart on my voicemail like the representative doesn't even have a brain to know that she has just said the same name as 30 seconds before. Do not EVER use this company if you don't want to be harrassed night and day after a non-renewal.OneGuard Home Warranties Response

We utilized the OneGuard Home Warranty for a condo that we purchased. The main area where they were involved was in resolving problems with the **** system. They would only use one contractor that was not performing well. I asked them if we could use a different contractor and they said they only have one in the area they are allowed to use. When it came time to replace the air conditioning unit, the home warranty covered all but $600 and the cost of the crane used to lift the ** unit. The contractor did not install the switches that alert us that there is an overflow of condensate under the unit or in the overflow line, so the engineered wood floor that was 3 years hold had to be replaced for $6,000. I do not recommend OneGuard because they are using one bottom of the barrel contractor, at least for ** issues, which can be a focus area in *****.OneGuard Home Warranties Response

I would literally leave ZERO stars if possible, but you need at least 1 to leave a review. Where to start, well called 3 times last week to be transferred to a supervisor, after waiting 30 minutes each time my call must have gotten disconnected according to each representative that I got. I called today, 2 separate times, 20 minutes, got disconnected and then called back, 40 minutes this time only for this so called supervisor to finally pickup except their child is babbling, the tv is playing in the background. Im speaking trying to get someones attention only to be hung up on once again after 3 minutes of that. We have had a massive hail storm here in ***** and they first say that my plan doesnt cover roofing and that it has to be added on at time of renewal. Go through every word of my plan, on the website, through their brochures and no word of roofing being an add on. So then they say oh well its actually just not covered at all in your region, and that add on will be available next year with AHS, a brother warranty company. This warranty company is complete trash. This is the second big thing that they refuse to help customers with. We also had a pipe shift, which fell in line with their covered issues, and they came back with oh well only cover up to $500 of the fee, it was an almost $4000 dollar fix. USELESS when it comes to ACTUAL home issues. Avoid this company if you can and make sure you do your research. What they tell you is in the fine print in fact isnt. Will be going elsewhere as soon as I can.Review from Darcie D

I have had a home warranty w/ OneGaurd for 7 years. This was my year to put it to use. I needed a new water heater in April. It took 2 weeks to finally be replaced and still cost me >$800 + the $75 service charge. The plumbers (************ out of *****) they contracted w/ did a craptastic job and did not solder the valve on completely and it recently needed to be replaced. The plumber only guarantees their work for 30 days. Unacceptable. Then the peak of Summer, my AC goes out on a Friday, I call to start a claim, mind you the inside of my home is 92 and outside is 118degrees. No call back until Monday. I contacted my own company and had a service provider to my home w/in 2 hrs. Monday the service provider OneGaurd contracted with said they could be out in 2 WEEKS!! are you kidding me?! How is that legal in this heat........ I have sense cancelled my warranty.Review from Bonnie R

I had a cracked toilet tank which a plumber showed me when he was fixing a leak. I called One Guard and they had a second plumber come out to take pictures. I was told by One Guard that the crack wasn't from "normal wear and tear". I appealed the ruling and One Guard said I could pay for a third opinion. I did, and One Guard sent out another plumber which found a second crack and reported that the cracks could be from normal wear and tear since the toilet is over 18 years old. Porcelain doesn't last forever. One Guard told me that the plumber's opinion was that the cracks weren't from normal wear and tear. I called the plumber and what they sent to One Guard was that the cracks could be from normal wear and tear. One Guard lied to me. One Guard then said they never fix cracks. So if that's the case, why did they tell me I could get a third opinion? Who determines what is normal wear and tear? The person behind a desk or the certified Plumber? DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ONE GUARD WARRANTY. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE A 20 YEAR OLD COMPRESSOR WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. THEY CLAIMED THAT IT WAS WORNED OUT AND TOO DIRTY TO AUTHORIZE REPLACEMENT WHEN THE COMPRESSOR GAVE OUT. I WASHED THE CONDENSER COIL REGULARLY ***** A HOSE. THEY APPEAR DECEITFUL AND DO NOT HONOR THEIR CONTRACT WITH YOU . THEY SEEM TO PRACTICE DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES AND PROBABLY COLLUSION WITH THEIR VENDORS AGAINST THE CONSUMER TO SAVE MONEY. IF THE VENDOR DOESN'T PLAY BALL WITH THEM, THE VENDOR WILL PROBABLY BE DROPPED FROM THE LIST OF AVAILABLE VENDORS. I KNOW THAT THEY DROPPED ONE **** REPAIR COMPANY BECAUSE THE **** COMPANY REFUSED TO WORK AGAINST THE WELL BEING OF THE CUSTOMER.OneGuard Home Warranties Response
