I got into a home buying contract with them for ************************************************* The home had several issues. A major one being that the entire second floor of the houses was creaking / popping. I was promised by the sales team that this issue will be fixed. I showed the construction manager *********************** the upstairs area. He agreed to get it fixed and put it on the list of things that are needed to be fixed. A few days pass by and I talk to ******* boss **************************** He says he walked the house and doesnt think creaking is an issue and that its industry standard to have creaking floors upstairs. He says he will fix the gameroom but not the bedrooms which were all creaking I then talk to the sales rep ****************** **** with the permission of ******, told me to be in the house when the framers come out and fix the issue. I arrived at the house and the framers come in as well. The ****** walks through the house and it creaked everywhere so they pull up the carpet from the entire floor. They put in several screws to try to fix the issue. The noises did not go away. They ended up opening the plywood to see what was causing the issue but could not figure it out as well. They put TAPE to hold the pipes underneath to stop the sounds but that did not solve it either. It was evident that the house had some serious structural issues and it was visible that the framing was uneven was well which was causing the sounds.The workers then tell me to contact ******. When i contact ******, he gets furious and tells me to let the workers do their job. He then calls the workers and tells them to leave right away. They leave and ****** tells me that i shouldnt be there because Im not insured to be at the house. Again, I was at the house with the permission of **** and ******. Then I get told they will only fix the game-room and not the bedrooms even though clearly the ****** who is Meritages expert on this matter thought the rooms were an issue and hence tried to fix it.
