Recently went to branch location drive up ATM to make a withdrawal and found out AFCU is now charging a service fee to use IN NETWORK branch location ATMs. Everyone about AFCU in the past few years has decreased- locations closed, shorter hours, less services. The only thing that has increased is the cost to do business.Time to find a new credit union.Review from Se R

This credit union will not protect you as a member against fraud. If you are a victim of fraud, and your account was cleaned out, you are out of luck and money. I called my local branch to report the fraud on my debit card. Arizona financial credit union decided it was my fault that I had experienced fraud and would not be reimbursing my money. I deposited a cashiers check for over $100,000 from **** of America a week ago. AZFCU is holding that check for over a week to clear it. They wont release it until after Christmas! B of A is literally right across the street from them. Why cant they get off their lazy rears and call to confirm its valid? This is not a small amount of money. Absolute garbage of an organization. My identity was stolen. I tried reporting all of this information to AFCU upon the suggestion of the big three credit unions, and their response was to repeatedly insult me over this whole affair, apparently forgetting that I was the victim here and I was merely trying to give them a heads-up to save them from a potential loss of money. Sent an email to them but I'll be surprised to hear anything from them.Arizona Financial Credit Union Response

Absolutely the WORST bank I've ever done business with! Someone committed fraud on my card. It took countless hours on the phone with the bank, only for them to botch sending a new one out, resulting in me waiting even longer to access funds. Upon activation, despite having confirmed my phone number countless times on other calls to the bank, for some mysterious reason, they no longer have my phone number in the account, so I still cannot activate my card until a business day. Yet another weekend without access to my funds. Total nightmare.Review from KELLIE V

BEWARE!! I have a charge that has been going through my account that are not mine and I didn't authorize it they tell me to figure it out and now I have over $400 in fees because they wouldn't and won't change my account # they just let it continue. I really appreciate that when I applied for a car refi loan and got denied, AZFCU worked with me. I called confused about the denial. Here I was a member of multiple years, with a paid off car loan with them and I just wanted my new car loan at my home bank. I forget who was on the phone but I said don't you think I should qualify considering I'm already paying the loan with the dealership just fine, your payment is cheaper, I have good history with you, and higher income this time than my last car loan with you guys. He said they were all good points he'll review with his manager. About 30 mins later I got my approval letter and get to stick with AZFCU.Arizona Financial Credit Union Response

I have an auto loan through this financial institution, during covid, I have experienced a reduction in pay, making it a little more difficult to make payments on time. I set up arrangements with them, so they know when I can pay. Not sure what happens, but twice, they have done a "payment sweep" of my money when I get paid. They take out the payment and it doesn't matter if you have arrangements set up. It doesn't matter if they leave you with no money. Horrible financial institution. Been a member since 2015 when I moved back to Arizona, When opening I chose this banking establishment due to I love credit unions and they WHERE local, shortly after opening my account they shut down my local branch now I have to drive 45 minutes to get to an actual branch, yes there is a sister branch where services are very limited and charge you for certain things because I am not a ***** County credit union member. So I drive from almost ******** to Mesa to be able to be in actual branch. Secondly trying to do anything over the phone is pointless! I use this account as well as my husband, that being said when your system locks me out I try to reset it except the temporary passwords don't work either so when I call to reset it I have to know all exact amounts of all transactions and exact amounts of deposits to get it unlocked, I don't keep a check register that's what the app is for, I don't have my husband call or text me with every single transaction he makes throughout his day and honestly I don't even know my exact amounts of what I use my card for. That's what the app is for once again. I know we have enough money for this or that so I do not have to look at my app for days. So exact transactions or where we spent money is the dumbest way of checking my identity over the phone because I have no clue. I can not use my name, my ss#, my address or my dob, Only exact transactions and the place I spent money at. So disappointing and beyond frustrating and has been so tempting to find a closer credit union to **************. Then lastly when I drive my 45 min trip to the branch I am greeted with people that seem like they should work at the dmv so unhappy, rude and unfriendly and the new remodel is absolutely horrible and makes every person sound like they are screaming it is so loud, and usually it's the staff. Inside voice can not be used inside this branch. I absolutely hate having to drive to the branch, I can't even use to drive through service unless I fold both my mirrors in and still barely fit through and I don't drive anything fancy just a diesel single wheel axle, completely stock.
