Complaint
The project started on time (October 14, 2014) and was estimated to take 5 to 6 working days. The project included: painting of the house, installation of french doors and drywall to close a room.
It was promised that there would be two or three workers on site every day. However according to the contractor a more lucrative project came up and he reallocated resources to that project. It is 6 weeks since the project started and significant part of work is not completed.
During painting of a master bedroom (October 29, 2014) a substantial damage to the floor was done. Since then contractor abandoned the project and only appeared to take pictures of the damage. On several occasions contractor promised to come to continue with the project, but never came back. Although he sent a floor expert to assess the damage no one has dealt with an issue during 3 weeks. Contractor does not return calls.
Overall work quality is inconsistent. Family room enclosure was done well. Painting job is of mediocre quality. At number of areas contractor noticed poor quality and promised to fix, but never did.

Desired Settlement
1. fix damage 2. finish touch-ups for the work paid for already 3. finish the rest of the project within reasonable time ******

Complaint
In December 2013,I contracted with Pro-Colour for the installation of a tile floor in our main floor hall, powder room, kitchen, and laundry room. The contract was to start on December 4 and continue to completion on December 18. The work began on time and was completed, for the most-part, by December 16, at which time I paid the contactor in full, based on agreement that remaining tasks for the contract and replacement of unsatisfactorily laid tiles would be done after Xmas. Over the Xmas period, grout lines began to crack in several areas, and many tiles, particularly in the eating area of the kitchen, looked like waves on water. The contractor determined that cracked grout lines were caused by insufficient support for the kitchen floor and stated that had he noticed this initially, he would have used a different approach for the base for the tile (e.g., a new sub-floor). The contractor returned in January 2014 and added additional support to the kitchen floor (from the basement)and re-grouted some tiles. In the following four months, Pro-Colour employees returned to our house one or two afternoons a month to remove and replace poorly laid tiles. After providing three boxes of tiles (18 tiles in total), the contractor refused to provide any more, so I was forced to buy nine boxes of tile, even though the need for additional tile resulted from the contractor's unsatisfactory work in the first instance. Now, five months after I paid the contractor in full, I still have one tile that needs to be replaced, many tiles that need to be grouted, and shoe moulding that needs to be re-installed. *********************, the contractor no longer returns my calls or communicates via email. **************************************************
*********************************************************. I am, therefore, seeking assistance in having the remaining work on my kitchen completed.
