    I recently brought my French bulldog in because she was pregnant and she needed a cesarean to deliver her puppies. I dropped her off at approximately 8:30 AM I wasn’t told when to be prepared to come back and pick her & her puppies up. I received a call about 10:30 Letting me know that my dog was healthy & had seven healthy puppies. I was also told that I need to come and pick up my crew immediately. I live in “Spray” and I was already all the way back to Kimberly when I received the call. I asked if it would be all right if I came back around 330pm to pick up my dogs. I wasn’t given any instructions when I dropped them off. But I was told no I needed to come back and get them immediately. Which I did. However, my female dog and the seven puppies had barely gotten used to each other and when I picked them up they were barely ready to move. It was scary trying to get them back to my home I was worried the entire way that one of them was going to have an issue along the way. My dog wasn’t even feeding them yet. She was bleeding and hadn’t passed all of her placenta yet and there was no way that she should’ve been sent home already. It would’ve been much better for the puppies and my female dog to be able to spend some time at the clinic getting used to each other and recovering from surgery and birth. I was really surprised that Dr. ******* and her staff were so quick to get rid of us. I have no problem paying for the time that it would’ve taken to at least make sure that all those puppies were going to survive and that my mom was ready to start feeding those puppies. She wasn’t ready to do either. I had to start bottlefeeding as soon as I got home in order to get the puppies enough nutrition. I didn’t get any instruction on how to take care of those puppies in case my bitch wasn’t able to feed them nor did I get any time at all to prepare my new family of dogs for life outside the clinic. I am not a professional breeder it would’ve been nice to get some help with the first four hours of their life. I’ll never go back to the John Day Veteranarian clinic. It’s too bad they were in such a hurry to get rid of me as a customer. ****** *******
