Complaint: Stayed at this hotel on 01/01/2016. We requested a higher end room at a rate plus tax of 191.00. When we went into the room the smell from the remodel made me sick, 2 hours into being sick I called the office, they had maintenance move us to another room. Several hours later my husband decided to take a shower and the shower fell apart, he could not shower. They had no one that could fix it until morning. They wanted to put us in a 3rd room and I said no. When I woke up in the Am i called the office and asked to speak to a manager. The employee Chris, who claimed to be the one to speak to was so rude and disrespectful to me .I was so shocked by the way he was talking to me, I told him I want a refund, his exact words were NOT HAPPENING. I then asked if they believe in customer service and told him we would never be back. He said thats good becouse you are blocked from coming back. I told him we spend lots of money in their town. And I would also write reviews on their hotel, he told me he was already ahead of me on it. I have never been spoken to the way this employee spoke to me. My husband went to the office and had him apologize for the way he treated me Twice. It was a forced apology. We then spoke to the GM and he also would not give us a refund. The GM said that Chris was one of his best employees. He said he would give us 20.00 back and send us a gift cert for another stay. It has been 7 days and I still have not seen a refund for 20.00. My husband and I went there to have a much needed peaceful time since this month is the anniversary date of our sons murder. I have been so upset and angry over the stay but more so over the way I was treated. I have never felt so angry and humiliated over the way someone treated me, especially since I was a paying customer. All we did was book a room at the wrong hotel and paid dearly for it. If the don't resolve this matter I will post on travel sites. I have not done that yet. I just want a refund.
Desired Settlement: I want my FULL refund of 191.00. That is the only way to resolve this matter. I will Never stay at The Surftides Hotel ever again. I would like to be contacted by the owner or property management. I have no intention of letting this matter go unless I get my full refund.

Complaint: I stayed at the Surftides hotel on 2/21 and checked out on 2/22 with a reservation that I made online. When putting in my credit card information online-I was not made aware that they charged...what they call an "incidental fee", of $50.00. I was told then, and only then that this "incidental fee" was explained on the website....which it wasn't-As a matter of fact it clearly says in the 'rooms and rates' section that there are no advanced deposits-and on the next page with the 'check in/check out' information says this " Guest with multiple day stays who depart early from a confirmed reservation, without 24 hours notice, may be charged a $50.00 early departure fee", and 35.00 fee for people who bring dogs, which we didn't. So upon arrival to the hotel-I went to check in and they accidentally checked some one else into the room I had already reserved. So they had to give me another room. As ***** the front desk person who was checking us in was changing my room I expressed concern about my financial or personal information being accidentally given to the person whom they checked into what should have been my room--Because when you check in they give you papers to sign with all of your information on it and you have to sign it. and I was told everything was fine.....But If they didn't even notice they checked someone into my room---that means the person signed a paper with all of my personal and credit card information. I was reassured again after asking about it and was told again everything was fine. When I returned home on 2/22/15, I noticed they had charged the $50.00 fee and ***** told me it would only be pending and would be back into my account in 3-5 days--But shouldn't actually post to my account--because their were NO "INCIDENTS" At the hotel when we stayed- And So I waited and watched my account and it posted on 2/23/15, today is 3/3/15 and I just got an invoice from them claiming they are refunding it today nad guess what....it has my credit card info--with someone elses personal info
Desired Settlement: I want my money for the " incidental fee" returned-Which is rightfully mine and the money they charged for the night I stayed for the inconvenience of having to go through all this trouble because they are scamming people out of money and for being lied to abou tmy personal information and the fact that now I have to worry about my identity/ personal information being out there. The invoice I received today that claims they are refunding the incidental fee back has ANOTHER PERSONS INFO!!!!
