            There was a charge for $101.50 we noticed after we checked out of the hotel. I called asking for verification of the charge and the customer service agent told me it was for weed smell. This is very disturbing to my wife and I. The desk person at check-in (9:40pm) was unavailable for minutes and was not friendly. The next morning hazy wildfire smoke had engulfed town and air quality was terrible (10:50am). We have no idea what they mean by weed smell, and did not receive any kind of notification for the extra charge. We try not to feel discriminated against, but in this case have to wonder. $240 for one night is already a lot. The reason we are in Ashland is to visit our oldest son attending school in ********. At least we know to never stay there again.

            We stayed at the Plaza Inn for a night while traveling North to visit family. Neither our shower nor our toilet worked. When we called re having no hot water we were told that we were the only ones experiencing that problem and they would look into it. Several hours later we still hadnt received a response so we inquired at the front desk. We were again told that we were the only ones experiencing a problem and no remediation was offered. When we suggested that this was not our problem to solve they offered $20 off our ****. We left and met another patron in the parking lot who also had no hot water and were also told they were the only ones to complain. When I confronted the desk about his lying he aggressively told me to leave which I did. However, upon reading internet reviews this problem has been a recurrent one for over the past year and many people have been told that they were the only ones to experience the problem. This seems in the least to be an ethical violation by this hotel if not a down right scam.
