Complaint: I was sent to a temp. to hire job. They did not provide me with proper training and was not prepared for training a new employee. Then they expected me to jump on the phones with inadequate training. I called the temporary service to discuss the matter with ******** ******* She was not available to talk to me at that time, so I left to meet with her in person. She told me that she would find me another job due to the circumstances with the training being poor. But now, she has put a note on the computer saying that I walked off the job and they will not send me to any other job. After this happened, they sent me to SEIU and did not call me to let me know that the job had been cancelled. And now, they have a note on my file in the computer system that they will not send me to any other company.
Desired Settlement: I just want to let people know that they are not honest with employees. I will be happy to find my own job. I had an assignment from them and I did a great job for them from 9/2013-3/2014. I also worked at **** for ******** It wasn't my fault that they sent me to a company with poor training.
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2014/08/10) */ Express policy regarding assignments, that was signed by complainant ***** ******* at time of hire, "I understand that if I am not able to complete a job assignment for any reason, I must provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice so that Express can obtain a replacement...I further understand that failure to provide this notice, or failure to report to work at an assignment without calling will be considered job abandonment and may affect my unemployment benefits". Copies of this policy are available upon request. ***** reported to a position, and within the first 4 hours of the position she left the job. Although the company was in process up setting up the essential tools needed for training, ***** took matters into her own hands and ended the position before they could be provided. Rather than communicating with Express before ending the position, and giving our business the opportunity to look into the matter, she walked off the job. Even though ***** directly violated our notice policy, we were willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and assigned her to an additional assignment. Unfortunately, the client company cancelled that assignment 20 minutes before its start time. ***** arrived early to the job site, and we were not able to communicate that with her in time. Since this assignment, there has not been a position that meets her skills and availability for placement. Should this change, we would contact her for details about the position. We need to consider the status of ended assignments prior to placing.
