I bought a 2013 Jeep Cherokee from this business on September 23, 2022. When I test drive the car, the engine light was on. I was later told, when they looked at it, it was just due to gas cap not being put on right. They cleared the code so the light went off. The car seemed ok and I bought it, as is. Not even a week of purchasing the jeep, the engine light came on again. When I had it checked it was because of the oil pressure sensor. I had to take the car to my mechanic. $250 later I got my car back only for the engine light to come on again four days later, same code. I made another appt with my mechanic and in the same day I made the appt, I went to start my jeep and it would not turn on at all. My mechanic said to take it to Jeep for them to look at. What they had to tell me is $7000 worth of bad. The wrong power steering fluid was put in which can cause serious damage. Their is a significant oil leak, oil coolant leak as well as Freon leak. The car wasnt starting because of a loose connection. Also found that there were 3 factory safety recalls needing to be done. I went to the dealer to pick up my plates and registration. I was in my other car as the jeep is STILL in the shop. He asked thats not the vehicle you bought right? I said No. its in the shop for the second time. He replied with nothing but an ok. I will NEVER buy a car from this business again and neither should you.Review from Miles D

This company sold me a car with a loud engine and told me that they would work with me on the repair. They said to go to their mechanic, capital transmission and I did. The mechanic was not a good liar and you can read him like an open book. He said there was nothing he can do so now I have to take my car to a real mechanic and a real honest person that I know and that I know will do right by me. It will most likely be expensive and that is exactly why they dodged helping me on the repair.Dave Morton Auto Sales Response

Customer stated a slight vibration in the front of the vehicle, We authorized A shop (We dont have a mechanic shop of our own) Capitol Transmission. Reputable business in Salem checked it out and said he couldnt find anything out of the normal. Said the 4 cyl motors in those vehicles have a bit of vibration from the factory, all of the motor mounts checked out and had no visible wear or damage. We had told the shop to just fix whatever it was and there was nothing found. Furthermore we have not heard anything else from the customer until now. also customer signed a paper to the effect they had the opportunity to take the vehicle on any length of test drive they liked and they had the opportunity to have a pre purchase vehicle inspection done, (they did not do) . We are very fair, these are used cars and communication is key. Have a nice dayReview from Stanton K

Fraudulent liars sold me the worst problem vehicle ever On the day of purchase the transfer case was cracked completely around the pinion and they told me to get it fixed and they would reimburse me for parts and labor less then two days later the power steering pump failed the turn signal switch failed then the transmission pilot bearing throw out bearing and clutch failed all serious repairs and one of them could have been life threatening. From what Ive experienced with cars and Im a self fix knowledgeable guy Ive never seen so many problems on a vehical in my life after only driving it less the. Five hundred miles the truck has left me stranded three times out of town for up to a ween at a time I did the repairs as we agreed on but yet not one phone call returned I spent ***** dollars cash on this truck and put another ***** in parts and labor just to keep it on the rd u e spent more time under it then in it they promised after my request for them to take it back that they would pay me back Ive sent a **** to theyre email with nothing in return and now the **** thing wont even start unless I unhook the battery and re hook it back up all together u e spent ****** dollars on a **** dodge Dakota that I cant even drive and its been a month sense I purchased this vehical as my sole means of work And transportation and now they have been forwarding my callsDave Morton Auto Sales Response

Customer stated on the day he purchased that he was a self taught mechanic and chose to inspect the vehicle himself before purchase when we offer the opportunity to have a ASE certified mechanic inspect as customers convenience, with that said customer was happy to purchase this vehicle and had stated "If there is anything mechanically needed in the future I am a mechanic and can fix it myself". A short time later customer calls us and states he has had a problem with the transfer case. At that time we told him if he could find a good one and a shop to install it we would purchase the parts needed. Days later there are more calls stating a laundry list of more and more repairs. At this point we have no idea what has been done to the truck or who has been working on it and what their mechanical credentials are. Short story is we agreed to purchase a differential for the truck and have not seen a **** or parts list or a shop repair ****. Which we agreed to pay for the transfer case and repairs to it, but again no **** just a letter stating we are not doing our part. we are a business and do not forward calls and he has the owners cell which we can prove he has not tried calling. This case is borderline harassment. We do as we say and this customer has not done the same. And we have just left another voice mail for him AGAIN today with no reply.Review from T. W.

I purchased a Kia 2012 s portage from Dave Morton. First thing I had to do was replace the tires. One had a huge bulge in it. Then I replaced the battery but the battery kept draining. I had to plug the car into a battery tender. Morton did help purchase one tire. But I’m out 1400 plus for the battery problem. Surely, Morton would have known about this. I’ve had the car for about 8 months and it’s absurd and still hooked up to the battery tender. When I told them about the battery drain they did nothing. I want to warn people about them. I had to put a non refundable deposit on the car because I came from Eugene. They are in Salem. I was unable to have my mechanic look at the car because I would have lost my deposit because no one would have recommended buying this lemon.Dave Morton Auto Sales Response

Hello I have 3 different pieces of paper that you signed that stated you had the opportunity to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic, and that there was no warranties written or implied. We are sorry for any inconvenience that has effected you. I am not sure who you talked to but what your describing doesn't match our business model on how we resolve issues.Customer Response

Evidently Dave Morton did not read my message when I said that if I had taken it to a mechanic in Eugene I would’ve been out $500 and since it was an intermittent problem I would’ve been out $500 and from reviews that I have read Dave Morton wants you to take the car to some place that they recommend. They did not recommend a place that I could take this car to get it checked out. I think there a terrible place to purchase a car. They should read some of the other reviews the reviews are consistent. The thing of it is hardly anybody reads a lot of that **** that they hand you and not once did they verbally tell me I should take it to a mechanic before I bought it bought it
