The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington is a large, free, walk-in and by-appointment urgent health care clinic available to 60,000 uninsured people in Southwest Washington. Free Clinic services include urgent medical/dental care, immunizations, vision, diabetes appointments and prescriptions.
The Free Clinic dental van travels to elementary schools throughout Clark County to provide preventive dental care for children. Annually the dental travels to approximately 20 schools. In 2012 there were 8,874 medical patient visits; 2,473 dental patient visits, and 9,481 prescriptions were filled in our dispensary.
The Free Clinic averages 89 hours per week of care provided by 80 volunteers. The Project Access program coordinates specialty, hospital and oral health care for patients in the community. Free Clinic services help stabilize families, keep adults at work and children in school. Many of the Free Clinic services are not available for free elsewhere in the community, i.e., ultrasounds, casting, vision and glaucoma care.
