    I went to the Joint at The Point (Greenville, SC) initially to seek relief for a pulled muscle in my lower back/hip region. I did not intend to visit again. However, after my pleasant experience with the doctor and his recommendation to come back for a couple weeks, I considered. Then as I was cashing out, the receptionist explained that if I signed up that day then I would get an additional 3 visits added to the plan's 4. I decided I could make the time as the value seemed worth it for one month of care. I was careful to ask her what date I needed to cancel by, and the specifics about the dates and location requirements of the visit. I signed up with the idea that I would attend 7 more sessions over the next month and pay only $108 (for the initial visit plus the 1 month plan price). However, when I attempted to cancel my plan in May she informed me that I could not cancel until I was charged for a 2nd month. I am furious with this matter, as I specifically asked her what date I needed to cancel by and she was purposefully vague so as to "sell me" on a subscription. When I told her she was purposefully deceitful on my initial visit, she stated that "That's not how chiropractic care works." I sent a follow up email that she responded to similarly. I then reached out to corporate and never received a response. I am very well aware of how traditional chiropractic care works, and that is why I chose the joint. It offered flexibility and quick visits that worked best with my schedule. However, I now realize that the vague nature of this location is how they rope you into plans that make you pay more than advertised. Finally, it is also concerning how open the facility is. I have overheard many a conciliations that boarder HIPPA violations because there is nothing more than a partial partition wall in the facility. I would stronger consider going elsewhere if you don’t want to have all your info and conversations overheard by whomever is in the building.

    I stopped in for the $29 new patient pay up front offer. I asked about insurance, and found out that they do not accept insurance. Fine, I was going to be a pay as you go customer anyway. After taking 20 minutes to fill out their new patient offer, I summarily wrote DENIED to the advertising and marketing area with their partners, where they were expecting a signature to accept. Interestingly, the contract spelled out that rejection of their marketing is/was an option within their own contract/paperwork. The woman at reception was not sure I could do that, and I pointed out that this was in the contract. She then asked me to present an ID which she said was required and that they were going to make a copy of that. Since this was not an insurance provider and solely a pay as you go facility, I found no reason to provide my ID other than to collect more information on me than necessary. As a result she refused service to be completed without my ID - even though CASH was my form of payment. REMEMBER that your private information should be kept private and you are NOT required to provide ID for CASH services. I will be taking this up with the SC government on this deceptive practice.
