Complaint: I took my vehicle in to the business for repair on March 15, 2013. I told the gentleman at the front counter what the vehicle was doing, and that I thought it was the transmission. He asked me if I was certain, and I said I was pretty sure , but no not 100% certain. I then asked if someone was going to test drive it, and the man said yes. I was called and told "come pick up the vehicle, it's fixed and ready to go" on March 18, 2013. I paid in full, and took the vehicle back. I drove out of the parking lot, and about one mile down the road, I noticed that not only was the problem still there, it was much worse. I called the company immediately, and was instructed to bring it back. When I got back and explained what it was doing, the people in the office said "sorry, we forgot to tell you the mechanic said it has a skip in the engine." At that point I was extremely irritated, I even asked why I didn't receive a call to let me know that it was the engine and not the transmission. The answer I got was "the transmission needed to be rebuilt anyway." The owner at this point told me he would get the problem fixed. He said to bring it to him the next day, so I did. I received a call March 21 saying "it's ready." Again, I get down the road, and it's doing the same thing. I call immediately, and am told to bring it to them they will absolutely fix it. I pick it up for the third time on March 26. I asked what they did to fix it, and was told they replaced the spark plugs and wires. I head home and of course it's still doing it. When I get home, I check to see if they did what they said, and the all three of the plugs I pulled were old. I took it back up there this morning, showed the owner the problem, told him about the plugs, and was told "old vehicles do this." Also that, "You should be happy it runs as well as it does."
Desired Settlement: I am not unreasonable, and am not asking for a full refund. They weren't jerks to me and I don't think they should be out the cost of the parts. I would however like to have all of the labor cost refunded. So that I can have it properly repaired, by a different shop.
Business Response: We tried to contact the young man twice, have had no responce from him yet. he went to ******* for his grandmothers funeral. We have left him a message to come an see ******* ******. ****** ******
BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
BBB Comments: The consumer did not reply back to the BBB within its timeframe to accept or reject the company's response to the complaint.
