Complaint: Contacted Gregory pest to to our lawn for weed and ant control in 2012 to 2013. a monthly service for the entire yard, front and back. the ant control for fire ants was great. the lawn service started out ok, but I was pulling weeds around the side of the house, driveway and back yard. come to find out, they were not doing anything, but the front yard, I had called several times, this is when I found out that they were training someone. I did not sign up to have a trainee do my yard at $71.00 a pop. I was still pulling weeds by hand and spraying the yard myself. I called and complained, and Gregory came out and did on application on the back yard. but not the side of the house or driveway. I paid everything but the last charge and told them I would not paid for the service since only the front yard was being done. It is not my fault they do not know how to estimate a yard size. they have since sent the last bill to a collection agency. I do not feel that and I will not pay the last bill since the service was poor. In fact I would like half or more of my money back for poor service. Never quite sure what they did, or when they were there other than a bill in the mail. I did call several times as well about the situation during this time period.

Desired Settlement: take last bill out of collection, refund at least half of payment for service, since only front yard was treated and not entire property as signed up for in contract.

Business Response:

The complaint concerns a service that occurred in September, 2012. A different technician was assigned to the account and inadvertently did not spray the back yard. This technician was not a trainee as stated in the complaint, but in fact has 14 years’ experience treating lawns. When we were notified of the discrepancy, we refunded half of the service fee and treated the back yard at no charge. All of the other treatments were performed according to the contract. After reaching this settlement, the customer apparently decided not to pay the remaining balance on the account and after one year of attempting collection, we decided to turn the account over to a private collection agency. I called the customer on November 25, 2013 and she said she was at work and would need to call me back. We will make every attempt to resolve the matter with the customer when they return our call.
