Complaint: Carter and Kirk Paving Company, Inc. (Mike B****) paved our driveway June 9, 2014. Within a period of 3 to 4 weeks severe cracks begin to appear, gravel was appearing in some areas and it was apparent the work and asphalt was not satisfactory from the beginning. I told Mr. B**** the day they were paving that the asphalt did not look right it appeared to be too dry, cracks have continued to appear in all areas of the drive. Mr. B**** sent an employee one time about 2 months after the paving to put tar in cracks, which of course, did not help since the cracks were so severe. Mr. Mike B****'s office was contacted by phone several times asking him to contact us and come to see the problem and tell us what could be done. A letter was written to him with pictures attached showing him the problem, certified mail return receipt requested, still we have had no response not even a phone call. At the time of the paving Mr. B**** suggested that we fill dirt in around the edges of the drive so it would not cave we immediately did this costing us $450.00 in addition to the amount we paid for his paving. With snow and freezing rain in the winter the cracks are going to continue to damage and the drive will begin to break up.
Desired Settlement: The pavement needs to be taken up and the entire area be repaved with quality asphalt. We have a circle drive in front of our house which puts the drive in open view to us and the public.
