Complaint: I originally booked a room this motel so I could take my three small children to Wildlife Safari, I figured they wouldn't enjoy riding to and from in the same day (all children under age of 5). Unfortunately we were not able to travel to the event due to car issue. I politely contacted the owner of this motel to inform him of my current situation. He was ok with this as it was out my hands, I asked that he go ahead and cancel the reservation so it would be available to other travelers. He agreed. Upon booking this room, it was advertised as "pay when you stay, no cancellation fees". Very appealing to a family with several small children as we know anything could happen. Once we cancelled our reservation I was a little skeptical as he wasn't able to provide a confirmation of cancellation, so I updated my card information to a secured card incase he decided to process payment. Well needless to say the next day my card was processed for the full amount of the room as if we had stayed! I contacted the owner as I figured it was just a mistake because "stay when you pay, no cancellation fees" was stated when the Reservation was made. The owner was very rude and inconsiderate yelling at me I was a no show and contact the booking agency. Next I did indeed contact the agency who then contacted him and he refused to release the funds, that he fraudulently took from the old credit card information rather then the updated credit card. My husband then contacted him and he cursed my husband out and said some pretty derogatory comments in English and in a foreign language. He let us know he processed the old credit card because he tried the updated one and it was "invalid", which I'm pretty sure is him admitting to fraud, I never gave consent to process this card! In the end the booking agency agreed to refund my money upon receipt of car issues and bank statement. In addition I will dispute these chares with my bank, as he should not be paid by fraud and false advertising!
Desired Settlement: Owner rather then booking agency to refund full amount.
