Complaint: I have been promised 4 times by 4 different people that my car title would be returned to me since I paid off my loan. I have requested it numerous times in the last 8 months since I pd off my loan with no action just broken promises

On 03/29/2016 my office received a complaint from the Better Business Bureau from ****** ******* asking why he has not received the Title on the loan he paid off on 10/15/2015.  On that same date my office had received a call from the DMV asking for a copy of the note and security agreement so they could issue a duplicate Title. This information was sent. My office has verified that a duplicated title will be issue and sent out on the 30th of March 2016.

I apologize for the length of time it has taken to get this issue resolved. I agree that the issue should have not taken this long.  Once the loan is paid off the process to release the title is a simple one as the title should be in the customers file.  In this instance the title was not in the customers file. A duplicate title request was sent to the DMV and they received the request for title on the 29th of February 2016.

To respond to the concerns of talking to 4 different Equitable Finance employees and not getting resolution.  I can assure you the same issue will not happen again.

According to the DMV my office will have the title to be able to release to you at the Beginning of April. Upon which time we will contact ****** ******* to give him the Title to the Auto.

8/4/2015 Billing/Collection Issues | Read Complaint Details

Complaint: Extremely unprofessional, not willing to correct mistakes they have made, and blame you. Use phrases such as "The little boy who cried wolf." When going through hardships from an accident where I was not able to walk and missed a bunch of work due to a fractured tibia, among other injuries, from being ran over by a truck, they were not willing to help me in any way. Actually ended up taking my car from me after falling a month and a half behind due to my accident and after paying $845 to get it back said that they would work with me on that months payment, but when it came down to it they expected my payment after it was just 15 days past due and threatened to take my car again if I did not pay by June 30th, got my car back June 10th. I ended up having to borrow the money, signed an agreement for $90.20 to extend my payment out which actually ended up being void due to the managers mistake again and ended up having to actually pay $137.66. This was on June 30th. Today, July 1st, they ended up running my debit card for $290.83, which my standard payment is $287.50, after we had already made the agreement, signed a document, and had paid. When I called them to ask why this was done the manager told me that it was "My fault, that this is why my payments should be made on time, and then said that he would get in contact with me. This was at 10:51am it is now 1:16 pm and nothing has been done about it, and I still have yet to be contacted. I ended up contacting their traveling manager, since they are not a corporation and are not BBB accredited, whom seemed very pleasant, who said he would contact the manager at the branch. Still waiting on a response. This is not the only problem that I have had with this company.

Desired Settlement: A refund, and that my account be transferred to a different branch so I no longer have to deal with the unprofessionalism, rudeness, and issue.

Business Response: 7/21 - **** (Director of Operations) and **** (Boise Branch Manager) reached out to customer and both parties have agreed to temporarily modify her pmts down to $140 a month for 3mths to help her out with her loss of income she has had due to her accident.
