In April 2021 I ordered a finishing kit from the Vans Aircraft company. I paid the full price ($9149.40) for the kit in two installments the same year. The kit has not yet arrived as of 4/7/2022.In February of this year, I spoke with another Vans customer who noted that I would also need a firewall forward (***) kit. I contacted Vans kit department and they confirmed the need for a *** kit and also advised the purchase of a spinner, cowl kit and engine mount kit. I requested and received written confirmation since I had already ordered the finishing kit. I subsequently purchased the extra three items, which have been delivered. I paid $270.20 for the spinner, $2025 for the cowl and $2000 for the mount, totaling $4295.20 plus tax and shipping. In March 2022, I reviewed the invoice for the as-yet undelivered finishing kit and saw that it included a spinner, cowl kit and mount kit as sub-kits. I do not need duplicates of these items and contacted Vans. They deleted the duplicates from the *** kit order and offered a refund of $2459.10 ($120 for the spinner plus $1400.42 for the cowl plus $938.68 for the mount). This offer is more than $1800 less than the price I paid for these duplicate items, based upon Vans advice that I buy them. Their staff did not consider the fact that these items were sub-kits of a previously paid order, although I informed them in our email exchange that I had already ordered the finishing kit.I request a full refund of the $4295.20 plus tax for the duplicate orders. Vans may keep the duplicate shipping payment.I have kept the email exchanges with Vans written recommendations.Customer #*****.
