Complaint
Lucky Harley Davidson damaged my bike while it was in their care.
I stored my motorcycle at Lucky Harley Davidsion over the winter. They were supposed to do a multi-point inspection on the bike before I picked it up. When I put the bike in storage it was running perfectly fine. I had checked the oil in the bike before taking it to them and everything was good. When I picked it up the engine had a knock. I drove it less than 3 miles and checked the oil. The end of the dipstick had a half inch of it chewed off. They had either checked the oil or did not have the dipstick screwed in while the engine was running in order to do this damage. I had to take my bike to the Honda dealer to be fixed. The Honda dealer had to replace 3 parts and the total bill was just under $700. I tried to resolve this with Lucky and they did not feel like the Honda dealership should have replaced a couple of the parts. Lucky only reimbursed me for $153, which only covered 1.5 hours of labor, the dipstick, and oil.

Desired Settlement
Lucky should have to pay the full amount of what they cost me.

Re: Case # XXXXXXXX

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing in response to the above-referenced customer complaint. I represent the following is a truthful account of Lucky Harley-Davidson's experience with the customer.

The customer informed Lucky Harley-Davidson of the repairs she had done at the Honda Dealership. She showed the replaced gear. The gear had no chips, knicks or cracks and every tooth was intact. The gear could have been reused; there was nothing wrong with the gear. A gentleman that accompanied the customer, whom shared that he had a mechanical background, agreed that he would have reused the gear.

Lucky Harley-Davidson agreed to pay for 1.5 hours of labor, the dipstick and oil, which amounted to $153.00. The customer agreed to these terms.

Lucky Harley-Davidson acted in good faith and did everything that could have reasonably been expected, and responsible to do, to resolve the issue.

OFFER:
Lucky Harley Davidson previously reimbursed customer $153.00.

Consumer Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am not an expert on motorcycle repair nor is the person (my Dad) who accompanied me to Lucky to observe the conversation I had with the GM, which is why I took my motorcycle to the Honda dealership to be repaired. The Honda dealership stated the gears needed to be replaced to fix the damage caused by Lucky Harley Davidson, therefore, I feel Lucky should have paid to replace all of the parts they damaged.

Final Business Response

I am writing in response to Consumer's Rebuttal to Business Response dated 05/27/2015. As stated in the original Business Response, Lucky Harley-Davidson agreed to pay for 1.5 hours of labor, the dipstick and oil, which amounted to $153.00. The Consumer agreed to these terms.
Lucky Harley-Davidson acted in good faith and did everything that could have reasonably been expected, and responsible to do, to resolve the issue.

OFFER:
Lucky Harley-Davidson previously reimbursed Consumer $153.00. Consumer agreed to these terms.
