Programs

The Salvation Army has been serving the greater Fort Wayne community since 1886. The Salvation Army, Fort Wayne continues to reach out to its community by offering a wide variety of programs and services that address important community needs. Some of these programs and services include:
Social Services provide emergency financial assistance for rent/mortgage payments, utility bills, food, clothing, transportation and other emergency needs.
Tools for School program provides basic, new school supplies for students whose families need assistance.
The Salvation Army Christmas programs provide families with food, clothing, and toys.
Emergency Disaster Services provide emergency assistance for victims of natural disaster such as floods and tornadoes or other unforeseen incidents such as a house fire.
Caring Ministries is a program that provides visitations to nursing homes, hospitals, and private homes, providing comfort to those who are elderly and/or ill.
Youth Programs are comprised of after-school activities, character building programs, and a summer day camp program that challenge youth to develop physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. Activities in the center include: homework assistance, basketball tournaments, access to the Internet, recreational activities, video games, pool tables, etc. The activities they provide not only allow youth to build skills in specific areas, but they are building self esteem, teamwork, appreciation for our differences, and much more.
