Programs Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana's objective is to provide work opportunities and skill development for people with barriers to employment. The organization provides vocational evaluation; job readiness training; job placement and support to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment in the nine counties of northeast Indiana. In Goodwill's program, clients acquire the necessary skills to increase their marketability, advance in their positions, have the ability to make new choices or seek a new career. Goodwill serves adults with disabilities and disadvantages who are referred by Indiana Family & Social Services Administration Vocational Rehabilitation Services and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Goodwill focuses on total integration into the community rather than sheltered workshops. Goodwill serves youth through Career Start, they provide employment services and training to at-risk youth who are referred by area agencies providing services to local youth. Donors play a pivotal role in Goodwill's ability to fulfill their mission of putting individuals to work. Goodwill's Retail Operations collect donated clothing and household of goods then sell these items in their eight stores. Revenue from sales of donated items provides funding for job placement and other Goodwill programs and services.
