Programs

Early Childhood Alliance provides services for families and professionals. Services for families include:

*Children's Centers-Providing quality early care and education for children, ages six weeks to six years. Cared for nearly 400 children attending our three state-licensed, nationally accredited Centers, with an additional 20 school-age children in the Downtown Center summer program.
*Book Buddies-An early literacy program for parents/caregivers of preschoolers. Worked with 192 families at 21 sites in six counties.
*Child Care Resource and Referral-Helping parents locate child care; offering support and resources for child care providers. The program assisted 2,228 families looking for child care.
*Paths to Quality-A quality indicator system for all types of early care and education settings. The system was adopted by the state and in December of 2008 the organization transitioned 200 child care programs to the Indiana Bureau of Child Care for implementation of the statewide model for 2008.
*Parents as Teachers-Building parent skills to help parents understand and nurture their child's development. 2,167 home visits by Parents as Teachers parent educators served 227 families, involving 316 children.
*Professional Training and Support-Providing professional development opportunities in the early care and education field. Provided 296 training sessions for the Child Development.
*Mentoring-Providing support and resources for family child care providers. Mentored 57 family child care providers.
*Child and Adult Care Food Program-Helping ensure nutritious meals and snacks for children in home child care settings. Worked with 115 family child care providers in 15 counties, representing an average of 1,900 children.
