Programs

Scouting is and always has been focused on the positive development of youth and families in their communities.
In the early years of development in Scouting, grades 1-5 boys:
Build worth as a person
Develop responsibility
Develop communication skills
Work with their parents to build positive family relationships
In the next stage of Scouting, boys from 11-17 years of age:
Develop personal leadership
Strengthen personal involvement with family
Build teamwork, trust and problem-solving skills acquire a sense of belonging within a group
In the later teen stage, men and women ages 14-20:
Learn skills to cope with and solve social problems
Develop respect for self and others
Learn teamwork and obligation to others
Learn to set priorities and accomplish them

These objectives are met through weekly meetings that are led by dedicated, trained volunteers that work directly with youth to continually direct them towards independence. Monthly activities highlight and supplement skills learned for each youth. Outdoor education centers are used to teach new skills in an outdoor environment over the summer.
