On July 01, 2012, Allen County Council on Aging (ACCOA) became a division of Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS) to better serve Allen County's rapidly growing population of older adults and their caregivers plus individuals living with disabilities through combining the efforts and resources of both organizations.

Programs

Aging & In Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS) has been serving the 9 counties of northeast Indiana for over 35 years. Designated as the single point of entry for Long Term Care by the state of Indiana, AIHS is available and ready to assist seniors, disabled and their families with the growing number of options when considering long-term care.
AIHS programs include: Aging & Disability Resource Center: Provides information & Assistance, Options Counseling, Benefits Enrollment, Community education Series and Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP).
Family Caregiver Center: Provides Caregiver Assessments, Caregiver Consultation, Respite Care, Men as Caregivers Initiative and Family Counseling & Mediation.
Home & Community Services: Provides Senior Dining, Meals on Wheels, Transportation, Homemaker & Chore, and Legal Services.
Geriatric & Disability Case Management: Provides Comprehensive Assessments, Care Planning, Referral & Monitoring, Enrollment Assistance for State & Federal Programs, Consumer-Directed Care Management, Pre-Admission Screening for Nursing Home Care.
