Heating Contractors The BBB suggests you obtain competitive bids from two or three contractors whose record you have checked out with BBB. Be present when work is being performed and ask any contractor to show you any problem areas they may find. If expensive repair work or a new furnace is recommended, get a second opinion. Do not be alarmed by scare tactics that your furnace is leaking carbon monoxide. For a fee, your public utility company will make a service call to determine if there is a life threatening situation. |
