Additional Notes

Complaint: In about January 2011, workers came to replace shingles, climbed on roof, left after 10 minutes, never returned. Unresponsive to calls and emails. In about January 2011, I called to have some shingles replaced on my roof. They made some repairs to this roof a few years earlier. Two employees promptly came, climbed on roof and then left after about 10 minutes. I figured they had to go into town for something, but they never returned. I saw they had put a little glob of something, maybe tar, where each missing shingle was. I called Pat Maple, owner, many times since and have also emailed them at the email address listed on their website. When I called, the voicemail greeting identified them as Roof Rangers. I left a detailed voicemail each time. No one has ever called me back or ever responded to my emails. This is their business and there's no excuse to not finish this simple job, and to not even respond to me is inexcusable.

Desired Settlement: As I am not out any money, I am not asking for any settlement. I only want this complaint lodged against their record. I don't trust them now to satisfactorily complete the job, even if they were to make that attempt after all this time.

Business Response: Business' Initial Response
Company states that the consumer was told in 2005 that she needed a new roof, it is not fixable. He states that they have come back and attempted to fix what they can, she has not been billed for any of these visits. The roof needs to be replaced not just randomly patched.

Consumer's Final Response
The business owner stated in his response that he would be calling me. He has not done so. This is just further evidence of his unethical business practices. I would hope all of this will be reflected in his standing with the BBB.

Business' Final Response
Apparently, Ms Graham has a political agenda attached to her complaint which is what I was told by others. She even states so in her original complaint: " The owner of this business was formerly a high school board member and often called out the other board members for not following rules and protocol. The actions of the owner of Roof Rangers are hypocritical when he does not follow the same in his own business practices. ". I have not been a board member since 2006 after having open heart surgery. I tried calling Ms Graham and was met with a ringing phone. Either I have the wrong number or she has changed her number. 745-2286. I made a fair attempt. I repaired her roof (it did not leak again) and did not charge will not. She was told on two separate occasions by two different people that she needed a roof...she in fact got a new roof by another contractor (someone I know) is it that she knew she needed to get an estimate for a new roof (which she did not ask us for)...if someone hadn't told her she did need a new roof. Aside from that WHY would someone spend 18 months trying to contact me? I have an answering machine, an e-mail, web-site, cell phone and postal mail...and she could not get a hold of me? Having re-read her first complaint and found the above comment, after making several attempts to contact her and having done repairs without charge, I am not willing to go further with this complaint. This is clearly a vendetta and is on the verge of harrassment. If she pursues this further I will be forced to turn it over to my attorney. Please remove her complaint from my file, this is clearly a personal problem on her part. RoofRangers

BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied.
