Complaint: Inferior painting of a front door necessitated a strip and re-paint. The job was very shoddy. Very Repeated telephone calls to owner not returned. We contracted MNM to paint our home. A couple of months after the job was completed, the front door blistered badly. A man came out to strip and repaint the door, but the stripping was incomplete an, therefore the repaint was very poor. Repeated calls to the owner did not elicit a response. He is choosing to ignore us.

Desired Settlement: Very simply, I want MNM to complete the job for which they were paid. I want our front door painted properly.

Complaint: Consumer hired the company to paint the house. She requested that they paint the house and the trim. She told him two to three times to not paint the downspouts and gutters because of their warranty. They ended up painting the downspouts and gutters which was not part of the painting contract.

Desired Settlement: She is requesting that he fix what he was asked not to paint. She is seeking to have him refund her the price of the gutters that he ruined.

Business Response: Business' Initial Response
This is an incorrect and invalid complaint. Her hone was professionally painted completely as per her contract. We execured contract as agreed and she paid in full. She became upset after we painted thar her lifetime warranty on her leafguard gutters. I advised even though we executed contract as agreed I would repaint gutters brown again. This would look ridiculous, pink house, red trim with brown gutters and downspouts. She wanted left red and agreed to me matching their warranty to make her happy.She then paid in full 1 month ago.

Consumer's Final Response
Consumer states (JLS): I have not heard from Mr. ******. My complaint is still the same. He painted my new leaf guard, gutters and down spouts. That have a baked on enamel finish. And never need painting. Which he was told 3 times not to paint. Even on the morning they started to paint he was reminded again. He proceeded to paint them anyway. Which I did not discover until the damage was all ready done. He offered to paint them any color I wanted. But, when you paint over enamel and it sets out in the hot California summer sun it does not take it long before the paint starts to dry and flake off, and with two coats of unneeded paint on, it just makes the problem worse. With the enamel, baked on paint it doesn't dry and flake off. It's permanent. I have no idea where this through walk took place, it wasn't my house. After Mr. ****** threatened me with a lien on my house if I didn't pay the bill he left. His painters washed up the brushes and left in a few minutes. Leaving the Christmas hooks up no paint on this, and the alarm box was not painted, nothing was cleaned up. Paint still on my A/C, tape marks where the tape pulled paint off other painted services. I really don't think Mr. ****** advised the painters to do these, removing the Christmas hooks, cleaning up tape marks, etc. and other holes and things. I was in such a shock at the way this all ended. I felt I had no reason to speak to him. And he didn't even bother to call to see if I was satisfied with his workmanship. As my 16 year old granddaughter said, Nana in few years it will look like you have a spotted snake around your roof.

****** non professional analysis of painting baked enamel is absurd. First, she contracted for a full and complete job - including trim and gutters. Second just to be a great guy, we alreay settled- I gave her a lifetime warranty on the finish. Third, every aluminum garage door made and every aluminum gutter with baked enamel finish gets repainted at some point from sun fade, corrosion, house changing color etc, I have repainted approx 400 houses in Sun City Lincoln that all had baked enamel finishes on garage doors and same on gutters. If complete repaint is in contract that is always our responsibility. ****** should have included in contract that she did want to have them painted, We fulfilled our contract. Either she shouldnt have been worried about her passing her driving test and contracting to paint her house at the same time or ? If this was my mom or my family, I would have completed the project just as we did. I did what was in the contractAND I did was best for the longevity and RESALE of the house.****** is trying to recover the expense on the gutters that she told me she got ripped off on. - $1750 complete repaint of house. gutters - $6000, Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is a totally unfounded complaint. Go to my website and seee the regular testimonials . I couldnt afford to buy her new gutters even if this was a legitamate claim but this is is a remorse about what she paid for gutters scam. She told me that. The Contractors State License board investigated this and found me not at fault.
