Complaint: Unauthorized Credit File Inquiry Earlier this month I pulled a copy of my credit file from the 3 major agencies. I noticed some questionable inquiries from "Credit Plus" in Maryland. After sending them a certified letter for removal, I received a response back stateing the following: " The inquiries to your report were done at the request of our client (Cal Tech Mortgage)." Signed by a "*********." along with a contact number. On XX-XX-XXXX I contacted "*******" about this letter and asked for documentation bearing my signature that authorized them access to my credit files. She stated to me that there was "No documentation was needed just a request from Cal Tech Mortgage". Upon further investigation Cal Tech Mortgage is not a licensed Mortgage Broker in my state (KY)nor have I been attempting to obtain a mortgage of any kind. Since Cal Tech Mortgage has requested my credit files numerious times over the past year, they have no documentation authorizing them to access it & my credit file has been & still is blocked from pre-screenings. Federal & State Consumer Protection Laws have been violated.
Desired Settlement: Immediate removal of ALL inquires to my 3 major credit files & Documentation bearing my physical signature allowing access to my files. If a resolution is not received with the BBB in their time allowed then I will have no choice but to move forward with legal proceedings.
