Complaint: ****** at Rubicon Construction was a nightmare to work with! He is careless and does not have his customer's best interest in mind. ****** at Rubicon Construction was a nightmare to work with! When we first interviewed ****** he assured us that the house renovation will be done in 2 weeks and he only does quality work. He promised us that he and "his crew" will get all the painting done with no problem in 2 weeks. Two weeks passed and ****** was still not half done with what he had promised us. It made this really stressful for us because we had other contractors coming after him. He deceived us at the beginning claiming he has a crew, but in reality he was doing the entire job himself. The paint job that he had done on our kitchen cabinets were horrible. There were stickers on the cabinet that he did not care to even peel off prior to priming and painting the cabinets. About a month after the painting, the paint is starting to chip off. To make matters worse, our kitchen sink was clogged about 2 weeks after moving into the house. We hired 2 plumbers to come diagnosed the problem and it turned out that it was paint that clogged up the kitchen sink! ****** was the only one that painted in our house. Per the plumbers the paint in the kitchen drain was still fresh and wet. We witnessed ****** flushing paint down our drain numerous times. We called him the following Monday letting him know the situation of the clogged sink. He claimed he has always flushed paint down the drain and this is the first he has heard that the paint was the cause of a clogged drain! He is a "professional" contractor; he should have known that it is against the law to flush paint down a sink. During our conversation we reached an agreement that he will pay for half of our expenses on unclogging the drain. He promised that we will receive a check in the mail within a couple of days. It has been over a week since we last spoke and we have not received anything in the mail. We tried calling and texting him with no success. ****** did not perform quality work as promised. He is careless and does not have his customer's best interest in mind. We would like to be compensated by him for our inconvenience and plumber's fee of $300.
