Complaint: I feel like the company is dishonest and lacks integrity. They ran a smog check knowing it would fail due to a "check engine" light. On September 14, 2012, I went to this location to get a smog test for my 2004 Kia Spectra. About a half hour before I was to get it checked, the check engine light came on. I didn't know that it would be an automatic fail. The smog tech ran it anyway and charged me sixty dollars. They said they could run a diagnostic test on the engine light for ninety dollars. The retest would be thirty dollars and a smog certificate for eight dollars if it passed. If the tech knew the car would not pass, why would he run it anyway? I was not very happy and let them know it. I paid my bill and left. The next day I talked to the manager and asked him why his company would run a test if they knew it would fail? I also asked him why I was being charged for a retest too? He said he would have given me a retest for free but he didn't like the way I acted the day before. I told him that I apologized to the lady in the office. Asking some other shops around town, they said most places will give you a free retest if your car happens to fail the first time.They also informed me that I could use two new belts. I feel this company is more worried about making a buck than to provide great customer service.
Desired Settlement: I just want my money back for their lack of integrity and to treat the customer fairly.
