Complaint: smog check test station, did the test and everthing has passed the on the visual they broke a hose fitting so that it would not pass ,more to story date XX-XX-XXXX the check test only smog,to a F250 ford pick up vin #***************** , the test went well until till a hose & fitting was broken by forse, cause the visual to fail ,it was not broken before, they wanted addishional $180.00 to repair, had to pay with my discover card to get my keys back to leave , the broken part is a new brake you can see on the plastic fitting that is a new brake. it was forced. the hose didn't brake just the fitting ,to the Evap and the pvc valve , now no smog test and a 180.00 bill to fix it by dealer only . Truck was driven home only and can be proven the the broken fitting is a new brake by a pro, the truck will not moved until this over with , it is a shame that old people can't trust the people that we want to do bussiness with . the name of the technician is Cutris Mason /eaXXXXXX . i have all the inforemation on the test. the station rcXXXXXX

Desired Settlement: to make it right . the work can not be done by them has to be done by the ford dealer and a smog check by test only , had to pay Dmv FOR NON OPER $19.00 LIC, FEE WAS DUE BY AUG, 31 THIS YEAR ,. HAVE PAID THEM $49.95 , THE TEST TO CALIF. STILL OWE MY ME $10.00. SHOULD PAY FOR THE NON OPERER FROM DMV $19.00 SO TO GET LICENSE TRUCK

Business Response: Business' Initial Response
Customer came in for a smog, tech heard a vacuum leak and found vehicle failed visual due to broken hose where evap and pcv systems meet. We explained the concern and showed him the break with a flashlight. The repair would be to replace the hose, parts and labor, then retest. The customer declined repair. Customer contended that the break was fresh and the BAR found break to be old, vehcile poorly maintained and cleared us of any wrong doing in this matter.
