Complaint: Had vehicle repaired and runs poorly after, makes knocking and pinging sounds . Was told it was pre exsisting problem but would fix for no labor cost Andys had vehicle for over 3 months promising to replace parts or engine and never would call or communicate with me . had a total of 12 messages in this time and never had car fixed . I gave them leads on parts and engines and never was fixed . finally had to tow car to another repair facility who fixed car in 5 days . Andys had charged me 820.00 that I now have to throw out due to buying a new engine that should have been diagnosed before needing this repair .They new it was knocking and pinging and needed parts they misdiagnosed it and also did nothing for 3 months but lie to me and the fact that we were without a car for this time was very **** our family

Desired Settlement: WE ARE SEEKING A FULL REFUND OF PAYMENT SINCE CAR WAS SITTING FOR 3 MONTHS AND NOTHING WAS DONE AND NO LOANER WAS GIVEN TO US . ALSO SINCE CAR WAS MISDIAGNOSED AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET A QUICK RESPONSE FROM ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP WE SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND OF ALL PREVIOUS REPAIRS OF WHICH COME TO 820.00 . tHE FACT WE WERE LIED TO AND NOTHING WAS DONE AND NO COMUINICATION WAS DONE ALSO WHEN WE MOVED THE CAR I WAS PHYSICALLY THRETEND BY ****** AND HAD TO FILE A POLICE REPORT IN ORDER TO GET MY VEHICLE . YES A PHYSICAL ALTERCATION TOOK PLACE AND A REPORT WAS FILED!! THIS IS WHAT I WENT THROUGH ON A WEEKLY BASIS WITH THIS PERSON

Business Response: Business' Initial Response
Company states that the consumer came in for their complimentary inspection. The consumer had gotten an opinion from one shop and wanted to know what they thought. The company found several leaks and the consumer authorized them to repair the main leak. Several days later the consumer came back in complaining about another leak, the company discovered a couple more leaks which were not related to the previous repair. The consumer authorized this repair as well. About a week later, the consumer came back and they suggested some more repairs that again were not related to the other repairs. They suggested that he replace the engine, consumer authorized that the company locate a replacement engine. This is not a vehicle that is manufactured anymore and this engine was difficult to locate. The company did manage to locate a replacement engine but when it arrived it looked horrible so the company refused it. The company contacted the consumer and let him know the status. They referred the consumer to another shop which did locate several comparable engines but none of them worked. The consumer then contacted the company for a refund which the company declined. The consumer has since continuously contacted the company owner making threats towards his family as well as various other threats and the company is no longer willing to work with him. The consumer is no longer allowed at their location.

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
